Beatle
Vs J.Lo |
Contact Music reports: SIR PAUL McCARTNEY
has slammed stars including SEAN 'P DIDDY' COMBS and JENNIFER LOPEZ for
flaunting their wealth by wearing expensive fur coats - because animals
are tortured to make them look good.
The former BEATLE has marked PEOPLE FOR
THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS' (PETA) 25th anniversary by urging celebrities
to watch the animal rights group's videos - which show animals being tortured
and slaughtered - before investing in animal skin fashion statements. [see

Def
Lep Brawl |
Blabbermouth reports: According to the Schaumburg
Review, a fight broke out during the DEF LEPPARD/BRYAN ADAMS concert at
Alexian Field in Schaumburg, Illinois at about 9:30 p.m. July 30 resulting
in the arrest of three men, Schaumburg police said.
According to a police report, a group of
concert-goers sitting in the main concourse had complained that occupants
of a skybox had been spilling beer, ice cubes and cigarette ash on them
during the concert. On three separate occasions they had approached security
on duty, requesting assistance in stopping the skybox patrons' behavior
to no avail.
The patrons on the concourse level attempted
to stop the skybox patron behavior by throwing plastic beer bottles back
up into the skybox area, allegedly hitting occupants of the skybox. The
skybox patrons retaliated by throwing full beverage containers down onto
the concourse patrons, who then went to the third-floor skybox level to
confront the skybox occupants. Words were exchanged, which "ignited a melee"
between the two parties, according to police reports. [see full story for

Elton
Slams Live 8 |
Gigwise reports: The media hailed the awareness-raising
extravaganza in Hyde Park as the greatest show on earth, yet Elton clearly
doesn't seem to think so.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Elton candidly
said: "I thought it was a bit of an anti-climax, to be honest.
"The thought behind it was fantastic, but
Hyde Park is a charisma-free zone. There was no sense of occasion and from
a musical point, I didn't think there were too many highlights."[see full
