Ozzy Retiring
siN's metal news reports: It's been rumored for months that this summer's OZZFEST would be its namesake's last � and on Friday, OZZY OSBOURNE announced that he is retiring as the headliner of the annual heavy metal festival. However, the singer is expected to finish this summer's tour and plans to make occasional appearances at future OZZFESTS. 

"After 10 years, the OZZFEST's name and reputation have been established," he said in a statement. "It's time for me to move on and do other things." His publicist noted in a statement, "OZZFEST will carry on in 2006, however OZZY will limit his performances to only a few, select cities."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Bizkit Death Suit
Gigwise reports: Limp Bizkit are being sued by their own insurance company, United National, over the death of a teenager at their Big Day Out concert in Sydney in 2000.

United National have pleaded to a Los Angeles court to absolve them from paying the band's legal fees, which have apparently escalated to hundreds of thousands of smackers.

A Sydney court found Limp Bizkit not guilty of the death of teenager Jessica Michalik, who was crushed to death at the concert. But despite the innocent verdict, United National are insisting that the band were responsible for Jessica's death and should therefore also be responsible for their court costs, undercover.com report. Abdul Cleared
andPOP reports: Paula Abdul will return as a judge on the hit Fox show American Idol after an inquiry found no proof that she had an affair with a contestant or helped him on the talent show.

Oasis Confusion
Gigwise reports: Noel Gallagher has admitted he was so high on drugs when he wrote most of his hits - that he really doesn't have the foggiest what the f*** they're all about.

The Oasis star says: "I get the odd night when I'm halfway through Don't Look Back In Anger when I say to myself, �I still don't know what these words mean!'"

Slade Leaves Asia
Blabbermouth reports: Hot off their successful world tour in support of their fan and critically acclaimed album "Silent Nation", ASIA have parted amicably with drummer Chris Slade (THE FIRM, AC/DC). Replacing Slade in the group's lineup is Jay Schellen (BADFINGER, HURRICANE). "Jay was always our first choice as a replacement drummer for ASIA," vocalist John Payne revealed. Carlo Little RIP
Blabbermouth reports: According to Deep-Purple.net, legendary 1960s rock'n roll drummer Carlo Little sadly passed away on Saturday, August 6 after a bravely fought battle with lung cancer. Bush May Return

Evanescence Refund
andPOP reports: It's a headache for Evanescence. 

As of Wednesday, a judge has approved an order to refund customers who bought copies of the album, "Anywhere But Home," from a Wal-Mart store in Maryland.

The agreement, according to reports from AP, partially settles a lawsuit filed by a local couple, who claim the copy they bought at Wal-Mart contained explicit lyrics but didn't contain a parental advisory sticker.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Babyshambles Bust
NME reports: BABYSHAMBLES have had their equipment seized by police after a secret gig in LONDON.

The band played last night (August 11) at the Duke Of Clarence in north London. Following their set, the police arrived and confiscated their equipment.

Beatles Not For Sale
NME reports: PAUL MCCARTNEY has denied that intends to by back rights to THE BEATLES' catalogue from MICHAEL JACKSON.

Jacksonowns the rights to much of the Lennon and McCartney Beatles catalogue and it has been suggested due to rumoured financial troubles he might put them up for sale, with McCartney being a potential buyer.

Green Day NFL
punkbands reports: Green Day, Santana, Kanye West and Maroon5 are the latest additions to the "NFL Opening Kickoff 2005" lineup. The primetime entertainment special will draw performers from rock, R&B/hip-hop and country music to usher in the National Football League's season and ramp up to Super Bowl XL. 

A free concert outside of the Los Angeles Coliseum, site of the first Super Bowl, with West and Maroon5 will also be part of the special, which will be anchored at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., home to last year's Bowl winning New England Patriots.
