Sharon
Vs Maiden |
Metal Underground reports: I received an interesting
email from a reader (Jonny) who attended the San Bernardino Ozzfest:
"I went to OZZFEST 2005 san bernardino
last night and things got pretty crazy. Sharon osbourne had people throwing
eggs at bruce dickenson and messing with Iron Maiden's equipment during
Maiden's set. Bruce said "I'm going to rip your f***ing eyes out if I see
who's doing that" "This is f***in' Maiden Fest" Almost every song was plagued
by her mischeif, such as Bruce's vocals being cut off and being replaced
by an annoying OZZY OZZY OZZY chant. Bruce was livid. He said america stands
for "we the people" and the people were the only reason he didn't leave.
There were other subtle signs of the "s*** hitting the fan" [keep in mind
this is an email account and unconfirmed - see full story for more]-

311
Fan Injury |
Blabbermouth reports: ChannelCincinnati.com
is reporting that a 22-year-old man might lose his left eye after a rowdy
311/PAPA ROACH concert Monday (August 15) at Riverbend in Cincinnati, Ohio.
"I can't sleep, can't eat because medicine
makes me sick. It's terrible," Nicolas Holmes said of the injury that left
him with 12 stitches.
Now Holmes said he's planning to sue the
venue for what he says is a lack of security.
He said that about 50 people started a
mosh pit near him and his friends.
"We get pushed over. Next thing you know,
when I'm trying to get up, that's when I was struck. Just instant pain.
It was bleeding all over my face. I couldn't see out of both eyes because
there was blood everywhere," Holmes said. [see full story for more]-

Hellfest
Protest |
Blabbermouth reports: A coup of screaming
Hellfest supporters terrorized the parking lot of the Sovereign Bank Arena
[Friday, August 19], turning the spot of the canceled three-day event into
their own personal demolition derby.
Witnesses said the Hellfest bus, a yellow
school bus painted in the concert's logo that was used to promote the event,
was seen doing doughnuts, knocking down traffic cones and driving wildly
through the South Broad Street parking lot around the same time the first
guitar swipe was scheduled to start the event.
"Their actions speaks for itself," said
Eric Cuthbertson, the arena's general manager, who announced the event
was canceled on Wednesday. [see full story for more]-

Clutch
DVD |
BW&BK reports: CLUTCH singer Neil Fallon,
recently spoke to Metal Temple magazine's Katrina Thompson recently about
a number of topics including their intention of releasing a live DVD, hopefully
by the beginning of 2006. Here's an excerpt from the interview:
Metal Temple: Are there any plans for an
official live DVD?
Neil Fallon: "Yeah, there have been plans
for that for so long now. The problem with that is those things cost a
whole lot of money. We finally bit the bullet and tried to do it ourselves
but we just haven't been able to get together. So hopefully, we'll hire
somebody and have it out by the beginning of next year." [see full story

Jack'ing |
FMQB reports: Last month we reported that
a new company called SparkNet Communications became the exclusive U.S.
licensor and owner of the Jack-FM format, including the trademarked "playing
what we want" slogan. Now it appears that the company is suing Clear Channel
over their usage of the Web address JackFMSanDiego.com for KMYI/San Diego
and the slogan "playing whatever we want" on Clear Channel's WLTY/Columbia,
SC. Furthermore, SparkNet says the slogan "playing whether the hell we
want" airing on KDRB/Des Moines is "confusingly similar" to the trademarked
phrase. The suit was filed in San Diego Federal District Court. [see full
