Dimebag's Family Sues
Blabbermouth reports: A night of heavy metal music turned into a night of terror when Nathan Gale got onto the stage with a loaded gun and began firing.

Four people were killed, including Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott of the band DAMAGEPLAN. Abbott's family, along with two other people injured by flying bullets, are suing the bar's owner.

Details of the lawsuit, obtained by 10TV, blame a lack of security for the bloodshed. Among the allegations: security at the bar was inept. Security guards identified Gale as a trespasser hours before the concert and failed to intervene. Overall, security was lacking according to the lawsuit, which also noted the bar had no metal detectors.[see full story for more including a link to a video report]- Click Here for the Full Story

Fiddy, Green Day Rule Billboard
antiMusic reports: Yet another awards ceremony is over (this time for Billboard) and 50 Cent and Green Day ruled the day with six awards each, beating out the queen of oversinging Mariah Carey who only snagged five awards.

The funniest award of the night went to Gwen Stefoni (that's not a typo) who actually earned a best new artist award. Maybe they were thinking of her new ghetto personality and solo career and no doubt forgot that's she's been around the block a bit?

50 Cent won the artist and album of the year honors as well as the most important award of the night for best ringtone but was too busy pimpin' to attend. Green Day snagged rock artist and best pop group awards as well as best rock song honors for "Boulevard of Broken Dreams".

Tom Petty was honored with the Century Award recognizing his 30 year career. Kanye West won something called The Artist Achievement Award. Exactly what that achievement is we do not know. [see full story for full list of winners]- Click Here for the Full Story
