McCarthy Gets "Real"

(antiMusic) Former D'Molls drummer and author Billy McCarthy plans to go non-fiction for the follow up to his successful debut novel "The Devil of Shakespeare". While doing press for "Devil" McCarthy received so many questions about his days in rock n roll and being a part of the heyday of the Sunset Strip that he decided that we put those adventures to paper with "Beat Me 'till I'm Famous: A Drummer's Chronicles of the famous, notorious, and dream-seekers of Hollywood in the 1980's and beyond." As you can gather from the title, the book will include stories about quite a few of the people that crossed Billy's path in 80s including the late-great Sam Kinison, Motley Crue (who's infamous Sunset Strip apartment was directly below Billy's) and of course his former bandmate C.C. Deville, among many others.

No word yet on when the new book will hit the streets, but if you want a good summer read check out Billy's current book. You better act fast as they are almost sold out of the final pressing. And keeping in rock n roll style the book comes with a CD featuring a song written and recorded especially for the book (the song features Styx's JY Young, Enuff Z'nuff's Chip Z'nuff, Warrant's Jani Lane, 20/20's Ron Flynt and of course Billy). Click the full story link to find out more, hear the song and get links to buy Billy's current book online (Amazon has it on sale and a package deal with Tommy Lee's new book).
