50 Cent Satan
antiMusic reports: Former Korn Guitarist Brian "Head" Welch is convinced that 50 Cent is a "huge force for the devil". The outspoken guitarists has made headlines with his religious pronouncements since leaving Korn and this is the second time that he has focused his preaching toward the controversial rapper.

Welch made headlines a couple weeks ago after going public with what he called "a personal letter from God" to 50 cent. Welch told MTV that God instructed him to write a song for 50 Cent. Welch has followed up with a new open letter to the rapper which includes lyrics to the song which he titled "A Cheap Name".

Welch explained in the letter that he wasn't attacking 50 Cent but just relaying a message from God. Welch warned 50 cent that if he didn't change his life we would be in danger because, "God told me there will be many attempts made to kill you by the enemy." Rap Radio Probe
NYDN reports: The Smackfest contest at WQHT (97.1 FM) was always a little bizarre - but no more bizarre than state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer's office making it the subject of an official "inquiry."

Smackfest worked like this: Two entrants would take turns slapping each other. Open hands, no windup. Criteria for winning included style and enthusiasm.

... Smackfest was conceived by Hot-97's sister station in Los Angeles and picked up here in 2004, with no complaints.

But Hot-97 has come under fire lately for the ill-advised "Tsunami Song" and charges that it has fanned tension among rappers. So six City Council members, all recently critical of the station for various other things, asked Spitzer to probe Smackfest. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

"I've heard rumours about [members of] that band being in a different kind of band, and how do you defend that? If you say, 'My heart really belongs to what I'm doing now,' but you used to be in a ska band. I can see The Strokes play or Franz Ferdinand play and it's real, and I haven't gotten that from The Bravery. I think people will see through them."
