To this, my friends, I must say that the Acceptance that you all have know and loved is no more, but this is not an obituary, on the contrary, this is a metamorphosis, its friggen evolution baby, much like a disgusting little caterpillar turning into not one, but two beautiful butterflies. Hymns Debut
PR reports: Rock Ridge Music is teaming up with Blackland Records to release the debut album by Hymns on October 10, 2006. Entitled "Brother/Sister," the album was recorded during the summer of 2005 at Blackland Records' in-house studio in Celeste, Texas, with John Kent in the production seat. The foursome, who call New York City home, reference and recall early Stones, Neil Young, and Gram Parsons, mashed together with Pavement, Spoon, Wilco, and The Kings of Leon. Their sound is a beautiful marriage of their current big-city life and the back porch breeze of their Southern roots, garnering them opening slots for Evan Dando, Los Lobos, and others. Individually, they've helped fill out other band rosters, including touring stints as part of Ben Kweller's band.

Unwritten Law Set Release
PR reports: Hit List, which features 17 of Unwritten Law's greatest hits (re-recorded), plus 2 brand new studio tracks, will hit stores on September 26. The process of selecting Hit List's hit list was simple: whatever fans requested the most vociferously at shows made the cut. Hence, the comp is a love letter of UL's favorite dysfunctional valentines, starting with three tracks from feral early efforts Blue Room and Oz Factor, including the inexplicably beloved "Superman." The remainder of List is comprised of tracks from 1998's Unwritten Law (a.k.a. the "black record"), 2002's Elva, and 2005's Here's to the Mourning, albums which documented UL's evolution from primitive skatepunk to the unpredictable entity they are today: refined, melodic, and deeply empathetic- Click Here for the Full Story

Fashion Zombies Beware
antiMusic reports: Let's face it. For kids who idolize their rock and roll heroes, can you really look up to a bunch of skinny little guys The Vines? Wouldn't be better to worship at the altar of some REAL superheroes? Then look no further than The Aquabats. This California band is one of rock's best kept secrets. Combining great music with superhero alter-egos, The Aquabats are busy saving the universe, one set of ears at a time. Morley had the opportunity to interview the band's vocalist and de facto leader, MC Bat Commander. In this excerpt they discuss Fashion Zombies.

antiMUSIC: Is Fashion Zombies a message to the Goth kids of the world to lighten up?

MC BAT COMMANDER: Kind of. Fashion is funny. When I was younger I was kinda into punk, so I dressed like a punk...what punks looked like. I look at old pictures, and I'm just like "Oh man, I was such a kook." And I just hope that in ten years, if they're zombies now, with their flat ironed black hair, crazy dark circles under their eyes, I hope they can say why they looked like that and why they liked it. I hope they can say that. It's not just about the Goth kids. I think fashion can be fun. Like doing your own thing is fun. If you follow a trend too much, you're kinda in danger. It's a warning, fashion alert. Too many flat ironed hair. In nutshell, on a grander deeper message it's kinda like, be careful of fashion trends: you may not make it out alive. (laughs) You know what I mean? Cause nowadays fashion is a lot more permanent, of course tattoos are really popular now. And I know a lot of friends who got tons of tattoos a few years ago and now they're like "Wow. Why did I get this wizard holding a crystal ball on my back? Can't even remember WHY I did it." And they kinda regret it. Painting yourself into a fashion corner, can be dangerous. [read the full MorleyView at the full story link]
