siN's metal news reports: Belgian death/grinders ABORTED have issued the following update:

Unfortunately we have some unpleasant news to bring as well at this point. Due to personal issues that could not be resolved, ABORTED, Tace & Free had to part ways. A cummulation of smaller and bigger problems in the past so and so months has made it virtually impossible to keep cooperating together as a collective unit. Radiohead Beat Beatles
Contact Music reports: RADIOHEAD have released the two best albums of all time, according to a new poll.

OK COMPUTER was named the greatest ever by readers of British magazine Q, followed by the group's earlier effort THE BENDS.

Sir Tom Jones
AP reports: What's new, Pussycat? It's Sir Tom Jones now. The big-voiced singer from Wales was among the new knights of the realm in the New Year list of honors announced Saturday. Jones, 65, joins a group of previous pop-rock knights including Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Cliff Richard, Sir Mick Jagger, Sir Elton John and Sir George Martin, The Beatles producer.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Gigwise reports: Rap star Obie Trice was shot in his car in Detroit in the early hours of Saturday (December 31).

Breather Resist Lose Voice
Riot Act reports: The Louisville boys in Breather Resist recently parted ways with singer Steve Sindoni. The band released the following statement on their website:

"As of last Thursday, we have parted ways with our singer, Steve. He will not be replaced and we are not going to be playing any songs from our past records. Minus the Bayles, The Bear Carries On
Riot Act reports: Minus the Bear keyboardist Matt Bayles will be leaving the band he has played in since its inception to focus on record production work. His growing workload along with the increasing time requirements of MTB forced him to make a decision and, though saddened, the band wish Matt the best.

Pedro the Lion Update
Riot Act reports: Pedro the Lion's TW Walsh has decided to leave the band and take his life in a different direction, returning to his career as a software engineer. "Dave and I are still buddies," says Walsh, "I wish him the best, and I know that he'll continue to thrive and grow as an artist on his own...I think his best work is still ahead of him. As for me, I'm thankful for all the experiences that my tenure with the band provided, but I am sure that this was the right decision for me and my family."

With TW's departure, Bazan has decided to drop the Pedro The Lion moniker and forge ahead under his own name. This is not to say that the Pedro The Lion name will never be used again.
