Rock n Women: Leaves' Eyes
antiMusic reports: Our final week of the Rock n Women special is rolling right along. Today Morley speaks with Liv Kristine of Leaves' Eyes. In this excerpt Liv talks about how the band recently broke a world record.

antiMUSIC: You recently set a new world record for the promotional efforts of this record. Whose idea was this and how did you set it all up? (Hardest Signing Session by a Rock Band".)

Liv Kristine: Yeah, whose idea was it? I think it must been Alexander again. I go to sleep land (laughs). He's the one who comes up with ideas like this. We thought it would be much tougher. But it seems like not many people have thought about it. So we signed 5,000 copies. We're six people in the band, so that means 30, 000 signatures. We organised things very well. We just put heaps of booklets so that nothing got lost and everything was counted and everything was done in a structured way. So it went really well, there was no chaos. Even the kids were in the studio helping us out. Well there were no signatures from the kids (laughs) but they helped us. It gives you a good feeling to be a complete family in the studio and still doing important things. It gives you a good feeling. Everybody sticks together. It's a very comfortable situation in the band. [see the full story for the entire interview]

Social Scene on Hold
CMJ reports: Canadian indie collective Broken Social Scenea super group so super we can make up words to describe their superness (see!)will reportedly take an indefinite hiatus following a North American tour later this fall. In an interview with Billboard.com preceding a July 6 show in Brooklyn, BSS frontman Kevin Drew alluded to the fact that the band has lost some of the creative spirit that initially drove them, and that, recently, they've only been getting together to tour. "If we kept going [without a break], we'd be taking it for granted," Drew said. "Next time, we'd be doing college tours for money. That sucks the music out of you. Next thing you know, you're trying to get teenagers to buy your albums." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Adler's Sicktrain
Metal Sludge reports: Former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"Steven checked in to catch us up on the latest. He regrets that he was unable to appear with CINDERELLA and POISON on July 1st. 'I was very, very sick and I was in Mexico getting myself healthy,' he explains. However, he says there is a very good possibility that they may yet appear on the aforementioned mega-tour. 'Chuck over at Worldwide (Steven's management co.) says we could be added to some dates in the very near future. In fact, Chip (Z'Nuff) flew in from Chicago last night!' Chip will be joining Steven on his upcoming tour, as well as Joe Leste [BANG TANGO, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES], once again stepping in as lead vocalist. 'Joe did such an amazing job (on the Bad Boys of Metal tour) and I love him. And having Chip back in the band, he's always been someone I looked up to and wanted to play with. It's an honor and a privilegewe're even talking about doing an ENUFF Z'NUFF version of 'Nightrain' with me on drums. That's a compliment! So we should be recording that soon for a new ENUFF Z'NUFF record, that's what we were talkin' about anyway.'[Donnie will love that idea...cough. see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
