Solo Thrice
SMN reports: Thrice has began writing a follow up to Vheissu. Here is the latest message from the band: Sorry the updates have been few and far between. We've all been hunkered down writing. We've been working on our next release which is a project we're all really excited about and will be announcing very soon. It's definitely the most ambitious thing we've undertaken artistically and we are really excited about it. So, stay tuned for the details....

The reason we're writing right now is because Dustin is doing a bunch of solo shows in a couple weeks that we wanted to make sure you were aware of. He'll be playing solo acoustically doing a mix of original songs, cover songs, and Thrice songs. [see full story for more details and dates]- Click Here for the Full Story

Neuraxis Above Massacre
SMN reports: NEURAXIS have posted the following update: Earlier this year, NEURAXIS had agreed to take part in a US tour alongside BENEATH THE MASSACRE & VICTIMAS which was to take place for late July/early August. In late June it was decided that we had to cancel our participation on this tour. We had advised the tour promoter of our decision. There was several reasons we could not do this tour:

With a month to go before the tour was to start, we had only received half of the confirmed dates. We felt this was not enough time to properly promote and spread the word about this tour. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Ozzy's Rockers n Ballads
Blabbermouth reports: Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE) recently spoke to Gary Graff of Billboard.com about the progress of the songwriting sessions for Ozzy's upcoming 15th solo album, tentatively due in early 2007. "There's a bunch of kick-ass stuff on there," Wylde said. "It is just ass-kicking, heavy stuff, and we've got the ballads, some piano stuff and some acoustic stuff."

"It would've been great if we got [Osbourne's album] done before the Ozzfest, but it's like trying to cram three pounds of crap into a two-pound leaking bag, if you know what I mean. There's not enough hours in the day to get everything done. [didn't Ozzy get the memo from Sharon about ballads? see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

It's Jonas Brothers Time
PR reports: The Jonas Brothers will finally release their debut album It's About Time on August 8th, 2006, complete with new tracks not previously made available. "Music on Red Bull." Without hesitating, that's how 17-year-old Kevin Jonas describes the hyper-adrenalized sounds he's created with his two brothers, 13-year-old Nicholas and 16-year-old Joseph, on the Jonas Brothers' debut album, It's About Time. And it's no wonder since the boys' influences include an eclectic mix of artists ranging from the Ramones to the Jackson 5 to the Modern Lovers--all purveyors of tight, catchy anthems. After recently wrapping up a summer tour with Jesse McCartney, the Backstreet Boys and the Click Five, the Jonas boys got hooked on the rush of bringing a crowd to its feet (and didn't mind signing autographs for the throngs of excited fans waiting for them after each show). One thing is for sure, the Jonas Brothers are all ready to keep the momentum going strong. "We go crazy on stage!," says Kevin. "It's so much fun!" Cinder Join Rock Ridge
PR reports: Florida-based band Cinder has signed with Rock Ridge Music. Their forthcoming album, "House Full Of No Trust," is due in stores on August 8th.

For those who recognize the name Cinder, it is likely from their earlier affiliation with Geffen Records. They signed to the label and recorded a debut album for Geffen ("Break Your Silence"), had one of the singles from said album ("Soul Creation") chart, and the band hit the road with Creed and Sevendust. The single, "Soul Creation," was also on four different video games as well. In an inexplicable industry move sure to incite confused head shaking, the band was dropped before the album was ever released! [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
