Travis Barker Broke
TuneLab reports: +44 Travis Barker has been forced to delay his return to the band after doctors expressed fears for his brittle bones. Travis fractured his arm on the set of a music video in September, but his recovery has been hindered after doctors diagnosed the bone weakness. 

According to a post on the bands MySpace page, Barker must wear a bone simulator on his forearm to encourage the limb to heal, but has been given the go-ahead from medical experts to undertake some light drumming.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Blabbermouth reports: MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman Vince Neil is working on the pilot for a new A&E reality-TV show. According to Vince, the program will follow the singer and his family after his parents have moved in with him. Neil told Eddie Trunk of the "Friday Night Rocks" radio show on New York's Q104.3 FM last night (February 9), "My wife [Lia] hasn't talked to my mom since the wedding," which took place January 9, 2005 in Las Vegas.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Fun With Urine and Razorblades
Blabbermouth reports: According to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Swedish black metallers SHINING performed a "scandalous" concert at Diezel in Halmstad, Sweden last Saturday (February 3). During the show, SHINING singer Niklas Kvarforth drank urine out of a bottle, was physically assaulted by a Norwegian fan, and cut himself with razorblades. 

"Stage antics are not supposed to represent normal behavior," Kvarforth told Aftonbladet. The bloody razors were later handed out to the crowd, which consisted mostly of teenagers.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Gigwise reports: Newly reformed Genesis have announced they will play a massive free concert for 400,000 fans in Rome this summer.

We are finishing up the last couple weeks of pre-production on the album and... really... seriously... (drumroll)... we're going to start recording on March 12th. We're pretty f**kin' psyched about it and pretty f**kin' psyched to be sharing this experience with Rick.

Hell Freezes Over, Slayer Wins Grammy
PR reports: Slayer, the undisputed kings of thrash/punk/metal have been awarded their first-ever Grammy Award. The track, "Eyes of the Insane," from the band's most recent album, "Christ Illusion," took the Grammy in the category of Best Metal Performance. Fellow category nominees included Lamb of God, Mastodon, Ministry and Stone Sour.

This was Slayer's second Grammy nomination, the first being in 2002 for the track "Disciple" (from "God Hates Us All"), also in the Best Metal Performance category. Slayer, currently headlining a North American tour, did not attend the Grammy's presentation, but vocalist/bassist Tom Araya had this to say about the win from his hotel room in Columbus, OH: " Jeff [Hanneman] and I put a lot into 'Eyes of the Insane' so we're thrilled that the Grammy voters took the time to listen to it, and then vote for it.
