Arch Enemy To Revisit Classics
BW&BK reports: Although ARCH ENEMY's new album, Rise Of The Tyrant, won't be released until September 25th, the band has already set their sights on returning to the studio. Guitarist Michael Amott spoke exclusively to BW&BK scribe Aaron Small and provided the following update:

"What we'd actually like to do is what TESTAMENT did with First Strike Still Deadly, where they re-recorded some of their older stuff. We had three albums (Black Earth, Stigmata, Burning Bridges) without Angela (Gossow, with Johan Liiva on vocals). It'd be cool to re-record some of those great songs and make a compilation.- read more of BW&BK's exclusive here

Influenced by the urban chaos that makes New York what it is, Vale's industrial-goth inflected sound captures the essence of the city. Vale states, "The base sound level in New York is significantly higher than anywhere else in the world, 90 decibels to be exact, so it takes much more intense music to feel like one of making a statement."- more on this story

Darkest Hour, August Burns Red and Suicide Silence will join us to make this last North American run f**king killer. This tour will be a back to our roots, smaller stages, just us and the crowd experience nothing but mayhem and a good time for all. The Black Dahlia Murder Detail New Release
PR reports: The often imitated yet never duplicated Detroit deathsters The Black Dahlia Murder have returned to the public eye to reclaim their rightful throne as leaders of all things extreme with their third blackened opus of thrashing melodic death metal, Nocturnal. "I don't think the pretenders will be able to match this one," proclaims vocalist Trevor Strnad of their scorching new offering, "It's f**king over the top. Brian (Eschbach; guitarist/songwriter) has really outdone himself this time. The kid eats lightning and sh*ts chains."

Recorded at Trax East with Eric Rachel and mixed by Jason Seucof at Audiohammer, the band's third full length Metal Blade release, Nocturnal, is chock full of flesh searing riffage, mind-bending guitar solos by fret-freak John Kempainen, and the disgustingly poetic gore soaked lyricism that legions of the band's manically adoring fans have been hungering for. "From the songs, to the artwork, to the sound quality itself, we could not be more pleased with the results" states vocalist Trevor Strnad. Be sure to catch the band live on the Metal Blade 25th Anniversary tour where they will be unleashing some new material off of Nocturnal.- more on this story
