Courtney Vs Rehab
PR reports: An "exclusive" Orange County rehab is suing Courtney Love for $181,286. Beau Monde claim Love skipped out on the bill for her 11 week stay at their Newport Beach facility in 2005.

The rehab filed suit in Orange County Superior Court on March 1st. In the lawsuit they claim that Love only paid an initial $10,000 but still owes over $181,000. "Although demanded multiple times by plaintiff, orally and in writing, none of the balance stated has been paid," the lawsuit said. Gigwise also reports: Whilst Beau Monde cited client confidentiality in refusing to comment on the case filed in Orange County Superior Court, a representative for Love said "this matter is in the process of being resolved," claiming there was simply a conflict over the size of the bill.

Rant: We don't usually stick up for Courtney here in the Day in Rock but anyone not on serious drugs would have a problem with a $180K rehab bill. Did they toss out the 12 Steps (which you can get for free) for the empty pocket method? (After paying them off you won't have enough money for drugs.)[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Being Emo Makes You An Icon
PR reports: Kerrang has proclaimed Angus Young the top Rock Icon. But then the crack set in and Dave Grohl nabbed the second place spot. Others in the Top 10 include Billie Joe Armstrong, Iron Maiden's mascot Eddie, Kurt Cobain, James Hetfield, Dimebag, Rob Halford and Amy Lee. For some reason Wentz is high up on the list thus invalidating it entirely. Because let's be honest, anyone that sports the same haircut as Rosie O'Donnell is suspect and anyone who's haircut is more important than their music is definitely not an icon. Plus everyone knows Gerald Way is a much bigger icon than Jimmy Page (for those that aren't Emo trendies, he's in My Chemical Romance thus worthy of a top 10 spot!) Not to mention Courtney Love being far more important than Sid Vicious. You can check out the full list at the full story link courtesy of GreenDay.net and look for next years list to lose the emo clowns in favor of whatever is trendy then. - Click Here for the Full Story

Nickelback Honor Dimebag With Single
Blabbermouth reports: NICKELBACK is releasing one more single from its 2005 album, "All The Right Reasons", and it's "Side Of A Bullet", a song inspired by the death of PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. NICKELBACK frontman Chad Kroeger told Launch about the first time he played the track for Dimebag's brother, drummer Vinnie Paul. "I called Vinnie, I wanted to get his blessing, and I play him the tune and I'm telling him that it's this very PANTERA-inspired riff," Chad said. "He was into it. He was digging it over the phone, and then he says, 'You know what, dude? You gotta write one for Dime.' And I said, 'Well, I wasn't quite sure how to lead into this, but that's what the song's about, and I kind of want to get your blessing on it.'And he's like, 'Brother, of course you have my blessing.'"[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

CKY Clutch Fireball Ministry Supergroup
Blabbermouth reports: CKY drummer Jess Margera told MTV.com that he has started a side project with FIREBALL MINISTRY's Jim Rota and CLUTCH frontman Neil Fallon.

"I was on a flight back from Germany, and I was looking at my iPod, and I looked at my top 10 list or whatever, and it was just like CLUTCH, PUNY HUMAN, FIREBALL MINISTRY, LED ZEPPELIN," he said. "So I called everybody but LED ZEPPELIN, for obvious reasons, because I was recording in my home studio. I just invited them all up to my house, and we worked on two or three songs. That turned into five songs, then eight, 10, and now we have 12 songs."

Margera said the Fallon-fronted act sounds like equal parts CKY, CLUTCH and FIREBALL MINISTRY, and had its first practice last month[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Rock Hall Vs Roth Pt II
KNAC reports: David Lee Roth is sticking to his statement that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame told him he was not allowed to perform at the ceremony to induct Van Halen into the hall. But Joel Peresman, the Hall's president and CEO, said in a Saturday e-mail to The Los Angeles Times that Roth is telling only part of the story.

According to the Times, the Roth camp says that the only offer they had received before Friday was an invitation to perform "You Really Got Me" with Velvet Revolver. Roth balked in part because that song, off Van Halen's first album, was originally recorded by the Kinks and is not a "true" Van Halen song.

Roth wanted to sing "Jump," but with rehearsal time limitations, and other logistics, it was not possible.[by no means should you accomodate the star being inducted. see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Boysetsfire To Europe
punkbands reports: From Boysetsfire myspace comes this rather exciting bit of news: So the time for parting come to an end. We had decided with heads held high to proudly kill what what we had created and to let it die with dignity, aplomb, and in good memory. Most specifically, it was a retirement party. Not a sad forced retirement but a happy one filled with nostalgia and contentment as we sit back and watch younger upstarts with mascara smeared countenances carry the torch we had lit over a decade ago.

Would have worked out fine.
But then I fell. It hurt a lot. Still does.
I missed the last tour so I think we all feel that the final chapter wasn't quite pencilled in.
So the rumors are true.
We are doing one last tour in Europe to say a proper good-bye to all our friends in that great continent.
Shows are being confirmed as we speak.
The tour runs from May 11- May 19.
