PR reports: Atlantic Records' new rock gamble
OPERATOR has released new music in the form on their first single �Soulcrusher'.
Fronted by consummate performer, multi-instrumentalist, mixed martial arts
fighter, gunslinger, and all around modern renaissance man Johnny Strong
and featuring former PUDDLE OF MUDD guitarist Paul James Phillips, the
band will release their major label debut on June 3.
Strong chose the band's name from a documentary
he saw about the downing of a helicopter in Mogadishu, a story that was
later turned into Ridley Scott's film "Black Hawk Down," in which Strong

Stone Vegges Out |
PR reports: Grammy-winning songbird Joss Stone
is raising her voice for her feathered friends�and other animals�in a brand
new ad promoting vegetarianism for peta2, the world's largest youth animal
rights organization. The ad is set for release on March 13 to coincide
with the release of her new album, Introducing Joss Stone, and features
Joss posing with a beautiful chicken beside the tagline "I'm a singer,
a songwriter, a performer, and a human being accepting of all sizes, shapes,
colors, and species. I am Joss Stone, and I am a vegetarian."
The soulful singer, who has been vegetarian
since birth and was voted the "World's Sexiest Vegetarian" in a 2005 peta2
poll, says, "I wanted to do the shoot because I feel there is no need to
cause another living thing pain or harm. There are so many other things
we can eat. I have never eaten meat in my life, and I'm 5 feet 10 inches
and not exactly wasting away. A wise man once said, �[A]nimals are my friends
and I'm not in the habit of eating my friends.' That is exactly how I feel."

PR reports: Oxford, England quartet Goldrush
burst onto the scene in 2002 with their debut album Don't Bring Me Down
and in 2005 collaborated with former Ride singer Mark Gardener on his debut
solo album. The band are now ready to take on America with their most immediately
captivating album to date, The Heart Is The Place. For the new album Goldrush
hired James Rutledge (Dangermouse, Kevin Shields) to helm the desk. The
band had previously worked with the legendary David Fridmann, but Rutledge
took a different approach and encouraged the band to be more sonically
adventurous, while simultaneously helping them discover their supreme songwriting
ability.

Set Release, Announce Dates |
PR reports: Astonish Records will be releasing
Soular's new album, Love Crash Heal, out on April 10, 2007. Soular will
be touring in support of this release and is kicking things off at SXSW.
Soular was formed in 2002 when longtime friends Marsh Shamburger (keys,
guitar, tambourine, vocals) and Jared Ashcraft (bass, vocals) began a musical
collaboration. Adding versatile drummer Ian Byrd in 2003 and releasing
their first album, Time and Space, the band reached a new level of creativity
and exposure. Around this time, guitarist Brian Lee joined the band.

heyday of the AmRep label's fantastic T Rex-meets-Blue Cheer power trio
Love 666 will recall that band's penchant for grandiose statements of drug-fueled
revolution (including the landmark album titled Please Kill Yourself So
I Can Rock.) Over a decade later, Dave Unger and Joe Johnson are still
advocating pure freedom, drug use and revolution in the new freeform noise
rock collective fittingly named Rock / USAdown, two independent endeavors
that perform separately on tour and on future releases.
The duo's forthcoming new album This Is
The New American National Anthem is the product of mental illness, years
of drug abuse and personal epiphanies found in free-association noise music.
Rock / USAdown's performances are completely unhinged and unhindered --
neither musician listening to the other. Guitars squall, crash and crescendo
alongside looping noises and many other dashes of extreme ugliness. But
this isn't some plebian attempt at noise, both members of Rock / USAdown
have trained in music at prestigious schools before shirking that world
