Manson Rejects Eminem Duet
Contact Music reports: Shock rocker MARILYN MANSON turned down the chance to duet with EMINEM on one of the rapper's first hits - because he felt the song was too misogynistic. Rock Is Dead singer Manson reveals Eminem approached him with a view to collaborating on a tune, in which he boasts about killing his girlfriend.

Manson tells Spin magazine, "He asked me to sing on his first record, and I would have, except that the song he asked me to sing was... too misogynistic.

"It was the one about killing his girlfriend and putting her in a trunk. It was on a record I could listen to, but it was too over-the-top for me to associate with. [just think about that last statement a moment as you click over to the full story link for more] - Click Here for the Full Story

Set Your Goals Smooth Arrest
punkbands reports: Set Your Goals were arrested for "disturbing the public" at a mall in Augusta, GA. After spending over $2,000 on bail the band has been released. Matty Wilson writes:

"So today myself and some of my band went to the mall with the Fireworks dudes and some kids at the "razzberry cool" smoothie shop recognized us and hooked us up so we talked to them for a minute and started chanting "razzberry cool!" in celebration of our new friends hooking us up with free smoothies.

Little did we know we'd barely get to enjoy them. As soon as we thanked them and started walking away, 2 sheriffs walked over and started pushing Fireworks' merch guy Tony and threatening to arrest him. They tell us to leave so we turn around and start walking away and after no more than 2 steps they grab Jordan and start cuffing him. We all turn around and ask what they're doing and they start cuffing all of us and accusing us of "disorderly conduct" while pushing us down a back hallway.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Diary of an Ozzman
PR reports: The JUNE/JULY issue of DETAILS features a GREAT Q&A w/ Ozzy Osbourne about his drug use, having his life on camera 24/7 and his wild career. Here are a few choice quotes from the interview:

On how he was depicted on the show: "My son said to me one day, 'Dad let me ask you a question. Do you like people laughing with you or at you?' And I said, 'You know what Jack? As long as they're laughing, I don't give a f**k.' I didn't really understand what he was saying then, but in hindsight he was sort of saying, in a nicer way, that everybody thinks you're a f**king joke."

On Snorting the line of ants: "Yeah the line of ants. I have no recollection of that it may have been in Florida. The Motley Crue tour, it was f**king nuts. It was absolutely out of control. But I couldn't have kept on living that lifestyle, because I didn't want to die. You have to get pissed off at yourself before you put your hand up for help."

On recently releasing his ninth solo album, BLACK RAIN, and living this long "I've been terribly lucky. When I had my ATV accident, I was going not more than three or fours miles an hour, and I ended up in a coma for eight days. My heart stopped twice. I don't remember any of it. I went back to the hospital after the accident and the doctors were telling me 'your left lung was completely full of blood. You broke your rib, your collarbone, your neck you're lucky to be alive.' If I had been going 120 miles and hour it would have been a cool way to go but four miles an hour? Ozzy Osbourne?!'"

Taking Back Sunday Get a Boost
PR reports: Taking Back Sunday announced today that the band will perform a string of headlining dates for Boost Mobile RockCorps (BMRC), a national youth volunteerism movement that harnesses the power of music to motivate young people to get involved in their communities. The upcoming concerts, which are free to anyone volunteering four hours of community service to BMRC projects, expands on a partnership between the band and BMRC that began when the New York-based quintet performed to 5,000 enthusiastic volunteers at last year's BMRC season wrap concert at Radio City Music Hall.

"Communities are like gardens," notes lead singer Adam Lazzara when asked why they chose to get involved with BMRC. "Without upkeep and care, without maintenance, it is impossible for them to grow, to produce anything of value. By offering an incentive, Boost Mobile RockCorps is teaching this valuable lesson to our nation's youth in whose able hands our community's futures lie. We are honored to have the opportunity to take part -- BMRC rules."[see full story for dates]- Click Here for the Full Story
