The Crowd Reissue
antiMusic reports: The CROWD's "Letter Bomb" is getting the Digipak reissue treatment from TKO records on January 22nd, 2008. Here is what they had to say about the CD: The year was 1978. The place was Huntington Beach, California. The band was The Crowd. And nothing would ever be the same again. The Crowd were in the vanguard of the Orange County beach punk explosion of the late 1970s.

They helped create and define a timeless sound which remains influential even today, over two decades later. One of the first and one of the best bands of their era, The Crowd are still going strong as the new millennium begins.

TKO is proud to release "Letter Bomb" (originally released by the now defunct Flipside Records in 1996). plus, The vinyl only EP, "Dig Yourself" (1995), has been added as bonus tracks to this CD. - more on this story

Bowie in a Box
PR reports: As a special commemorative collection, the two-CD vinyl replica digipak international editions of David Bowie's five most recent studio albums Outside, Earthling, 'hours', Heathen, and Reality have now been packaged together in a limited edition slipcase. The David Bowie Box Set will arrive in stores December 4th on ISO/Columbia, a division of Sony Bmg Music EntertainMent.

In the early 1990s, while still signed to EMI in Great Britain, David Bowie signed with Virgin Records in the U.S., at the peak of the label's success in the pop field (Janet Jackson, the Rolling Stones, Lenny Kravitz, Smashing Pumpkins, et alia). The three studio albums he subsequently recorded for Virgin OUTSIDE (1995), EARTHLING (1997), and 'hours' (1999) were among the most adventurous and controversial he ever produced.

Two years later, Bowie negotiated a deal with Columbia Records for his own label, ISO, and went on to record his most recent studio albums under the new venture, HEATHEN (2002) and REALITY (2003). The deal also brought rights for OUTSIDE, EARTHLING, and 'hours', and in 2004, they were issued by Sony International as two-CD sets, each containing a bonus disc of more than a dozen mixes, remixes, edits, special versions, alternate takes, outtakes, rarities and so on. - more details

Stevie Ray Vaughan DVD
PR reports: Stevie Ray Vaughan Pride in Joy video is finally coming to DVD. Here is the PR: In 2007, on the 25th anniversary of the debut of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble at the Montreux Jazz Festival in July 1982 - four short months before they began recording their first album for Epic Records - the sky is still crying over the loss of one of the world's most renowned young guitarists, just eight summers later, in August 1990.

Seeing was believing - and this was one band who was fortunate to come of age at the dawn of the MTV era, when film and video production became almost as important as studio recording. During the course of the '80s, promotional video clips, live performance films, and so-called EPKs (electronic press kits) became a cornerstone of every artist's discography. In 1990, after five RIAA platinum and multi-platinum albums, SRV&DT's whirlwind success was celebrated with Pride And Joy, a VHS collection that gathered six promo video clips and two live numbers, spanning 1983 to 1989.

Nearly two decades later, that collection has been updated, upgraded (to new Stereo and 5.1 surround-sound mixes), and expanded to more than twice its original length. - more on this story

Huey Video Trilogy
PR reports: Huey is releasing a web centric trilogy of music videos aimed at his fans who look primarily to the web for music and entertainment. The videos, which are available for viewing on all the major video sharing websites, reveal a different side of Huey that fans of his number one summer hit "Pop, Lock, & Drop It" may not know of.

Huey has been working with the mayor of his hometown, Kinloch, right outside St. Louis, to rebuild the community. Says Huey, "My neighborhood used to have a sense of community but now it's dead due to drugs and things getting too hot there so I'm investing my money to rebuild youth centers, libraries, schools, and stores." The destitution that plagues St. Louis is portrayed in one of the three new videos titled, "Nobody Loves the Hood."

The three videos are meant to be seen in a certain order as they reveal what a day in the life of Huey is like. First is the non-album track, "Adidas" which shows Huey visiting the "I Am St. Louis" store to pick up some fresh new Adidas gear. The next video is "Aye," which shows everyone in STL having a good time and celebrating life on a hot summer day. Next is the third and final video for another non-album track, "Nobody Loves the Hood." Explains Huey, "The videos show what a typical day is like where I call my boys up, we get some new Adidas clothes and then we're feelin' good so we party and holler "Aye," but then a gunshot rings out and the emotions kick in and we're reminded that we still got a lot of problems in the hood." The videos can be seen on - Huey's YouTube channel

Broken Bottles in Jan
antiMusic reports: TKO has set a January 22nd release date for a Digipak of Broken Bottles' "Hospital" as the band announce some international tour dates. Here is what the label has the say about the band:

Broken Bottles are sticking to the sound they're known for- a time warp straight back to the Posh Boy-era of Southern California Punk Rock. You'll be checking your calendar to make sure you're not back in 1982, recalling the more intense, moody days of punk rock where bands like TSOL, EARLY Social Distortion and Shattered Faith once reigned, when eyeliner was just as much part of the uniform as your combat boots. - more including tour dates
