The Blackout is Coming |
The Blackout cruised onto the rock community's radar a year ago with the fearsome statement of intent that was the cunningly titled six-track Fierce Panda mini-album The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout!. Yet they were scarcely naïve chancers back then: by the time Fierce Panda had picked up the A&R pace the band had played over 100 live shows; by the time they started working on We Are The Dynamite! they had already shared stages with their fellow newcomer peers of 2006, Gallows and Enter Shikari, as well as Fightstar, Lostprophets, Eighteen Visions, The Used and Kids In Glass Houses.
It is faintly remarkable then that in spite of all that pedigree "The Beijing Cocktail" is only The Blackout's second ever single, following last year's limited edition CD release "Hard Slammin."- more on this story

"We proved a lot with the band's second album, I think we grew as songwriters and took Razorlight to a new level which these days seems pretty rare with bands on their second record," Borrell commented.- more on this story
Switchfoot and Relient K Tour |
"For the past three years the Bro-am has been an amazing chance to give back to our local community," says Switchfoot lead vocalist Jon Foreman of the annual surfing/music event the band founded to benefit San Diego's Care House. "We wanted our next tour to be built the same way: giving directly to local communities around the country. Habitat for Humanity was an obvious fit; we're honored to be partnering with such a great organization."
"We've been trying to get back on the road with Switchfoot ever since the first time we toured together," says Relient K lead singer Matt Thiessen. "The two of our bands combine for a really diverse show that seems to flow together in a very natural way. We're also big fans, so we get to ask for their autographs and take pictures with them every night."- more on this story
