Sevendust Week: Day 2 "Sorrow" and "Enough"
antiMusic reports: We're gonna kick things up a notch this week with metal heavyweights Sevendust! The band's new album, "Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow," comes out this week and we caught up with Morgan Rose to discuss his favorite tracks from the effort. Here is Morgan with today's songs:

Sorrow: a song about selfishness. Focusing on people that never take blame and are always wondering why everyone else is wrong. Unfortunately I did use myself as the subject when writing this.

Enough: Written about someone that's controlling. Only being understanding when things are going their way and no matter how much they control the relationship they continue to push for more.

We'll be back with the final song story from Morgan on Friday, but for now check out some songs from the CD, learn more about it and the band and grab tour dates - right here!

Weiland Booted from Velvet Revolver
antiMusic reports: Scott Weiland was only half right when he told a concert crowd last month that they were witnessing the final Velvet Revolver tour. It turns out that they were witnessing HIS final Velvet Revolver tour as the band gave the difficult frontman the boot.

Velvet Revolver (Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner) plan to carry on without Weiland who is heading out on tour this year with his old band Stone Temple Pilots. "This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either," Slash said in a statement issued on Tuesday. "Among other things, his increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on."

Slash has been very vocal of late, he not only has spoken publicly about Velvet Revolver's future plans but he also took time out to slam emo music and the lack of true lead guitarists today. - more on that here

Nickelback Singer Guilty
antiMusic reports: "This is how you convict me." That just may be the new line in Nickelback's breakthrough hit after frontman Chad Kroeger was convicted of drunk driving by a Canadian court.

According to the Canadian press, "Kroeger, whose real name is Chad Turton, had almost twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system when he was stopped for speeding in Surrey, B.C., in June of 2006."

It doesn't look like this conviction will land Kroeger in jail. The Canadian Press says that he faces a fine or a suspended drivers license when he is sentenced on May 1st.

Weezer CD Announced
antiMusic reports: The long wait for a new Weezer album will soon be over. The band's publicist told Billboard that the new effort will hit stores on June 17th. It looks like the band will also carry on the tradition of self-titling their album. No word yet on the color of the cover but the effort was co-produced by Rick Rubin.

Frontman Rivers Cuomo posted a message for fans last month announcing "We have one song left to mix and then it's on to mastering. We should be all done very soon. Then we chill for a minute.

"The album will be out in June so with any luck you will hear a new Weezer song on the radio soon. I think I know which song is the first single but I'm not sure so I can't tell you. I'll give you some hints, though. It's one word, starts with a T, ends with an R and contains twelve letters. You should be able to figure it out because you're smart li'l Weezer fans.

"The album is meaty, crunchy and melodic like a good Weezer album should be." - more on this story

U2 Ink Live Nation Deal
antiMusic reports: U2 has signed a 12-year deal with Live Nation, that will hand over various aspects of U2's business to the promotion giant. But Bono and co are not putting all their eggs in the Live Nation basket.

The deal reportedly includes worldwide touring, merchandising, and the band's official Web site but is not a 360-degree arrangement like Madonna's. U2 will remain with Universal Music and none of the publishing will go to Live Nation.

"It's not do-or-die that we have to have everything. We just have to have certain critical mass, and we more than have it in this deal," Michael Cohl, Live Nation chairman of the board and CEO of Live Nation Artists, told Billboard.com.

U2 manager Paul McGuinness adds, "There's a certain convergence taking place in the industry, and it's obvious that the biggest part of U2's business now is their live business, even though they're a major, major record-selling act." - a lot more details

Reuters reports: Canadian pop superstar Celine Dion's April 13 Beijing concert has been cancelled because the organizers failed to obtain a permit despite selling thousands of tickets, local media reported.

A spokesman for the singer denied media reports on Tuesday that quoted the concert organizer, Emma Ticketmaster, as saying Dion had postponed the concert at the 64,000-seat Workers Stadium due to concern that Beijing's sandstorms could affect her recovery from a recent throat infection.

The spokesman said the real reason for the cancellation was that Emma Ticketmaster "had sold more than 10,000 tickets, having not carried out the approval process," the Beijing Evening News said on Tuesday - more on this story

GnrDaily Speak With Dr Pepper About Guns N' Soda
GnrDaily reports: With all the talk right now regarding the Dr. Pepper challenge, we at GnrDaily decided to reach out to the corporate folks at the company and see exactly what they have in mind. Greg Artkop the Director of Corporate Communications for Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages, the parent company of Dr. Pepper, was kind enough to take a few minutes with me to answer some questions.

Big Pat: There is a tremendous buzz right now with regards to the Dr. Pepper challenge. What brought this on? * Greg Artkop: "Dr Pepper believes the world needs more GN'R. We wanted to do our part to get Chinese Democracy out of the studio and into our iPods."

Big Pat: On the GN'R official web site, Axl responded to the challenge, quite quickly in fact! To fans that was a surprise. Did you read his response? If so could you comment on it? * Greg Artkop: "We were extremely pleased that Axl responded so quickly - and favorably - to our offer. I guess we'll have to expand to include a Dr Pepper for Buckethead. That was an interesting and unexpected bonus!"

Big Pat: Has your company gone as far as developing a plan to carry out the distribution of their product should the album actually be released this year? If so and you can share what is it? * Greg Artkop: "If the album is released in 2008, everyone will have the opportunity to download a coupon for a free Dr Pepper from our website." - more on this story

They did not kick me out, and they in no way had any choice or authority over my leaving.
