Lotus Hitting the Road Behind New CD
PR reports: This fall, Lotus releases their highly anticipated studio album, Hammerstrike, and steps out on their most ambitious tour yet. The months ahead will wrap up a huge year of growth for Lotus; a year that has positioned this instrumental post-rock outfit for a breakout 2009.

Hammerstrike (October 14, 2008/SCI Fidelity) finds the band reaching back in order to move forward. Primarily recorded live in one room to analog tape by Bill Moriarty (Dr. Dog, Man Man), the album captures a sound that harkens back to the 70's but never slips into nostalgic retreads. - more on this story

The Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame Class of 2008
PR reports: The Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame, a living tribute to Philadelphia's rich music history and a vital force unifying the city's diverse cultural communities along the Avenue of the Arts, will welcome five new inductees next week when R&B legend Billy Paul ("Me & Mrs. Jones"), Motown singer Tammi Terrell ("Ain't No Mountain High Enough"), pioneering teen idol Dee Dee Sharp ("Mashed Potato Time"), rock innovator Charlie Gracie ("Butterfly"), and influential jazz trumpeter Clifford Brown (Miles Davis, Charlie Parker) will be honored together as recipients of the 108th through 112th commemorative bronze plaques along the Avenue of the Arts. Ceremonies are scheduled for Thursday, October 23 from noon-2 p.m.

The induction of this diverse group of legends cements the renewed commitment by the Philadelphia Music Alliance (PMA), supported by the Avenue of the Arts, Inc. (AAI), the Rhythm & Blues Foundation, Philadelphia International Records and A Fight for the Cause launched in June with the jam-packed Avenue induction of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly to shed new light on the City's cultural legacy and incredible contribution to the world of music past, present and future as a major tourist attraction. This agenda to recognize more local music greats is part of the community based, not-for-profit organization's overall mission to encourage the creation, celebration and historical preservation of Philadelphia music, and the foundation of a new commitment to schedule several induction ceremonies each year, starting in 2009.

Sonic Syndicate Reissue
PR reports: New York's Pivotal Rockordings (Relocated from Florida) is proud to announce the re-release of "Eden Fire", the debut album from Swedish metallers Sonic Syndicate through Koch Distribution in the US and Canada on December 9th 2008.

For a side of SONIC SYNDICATE that many have not yet experienced a band unshaped and untouched by the mainstream music industry "Eden Fire" is not only a dark, heavy, and rich album filled with cult classics and fan favorites, but also a piece of history that documents the beginnings of a young underground band on the edge of its explosion to fame.

Pivotal Rockordings owner Leevan Macomeau comments: "This album started it all for the band as well as for our record label, so when given the opportunity to give "Eden Fire" the proper North American distribution that it never received, we were more than ecstatic. We are looking forward to cooperating with France's Listenable Records and North America's KOCH DISTRIBUTION in order to bring our catalogue to the masses!" - more on this story
