The Answer To Injury Is Cancelation
PR reports: Due to ligament / tendon damage to drummer James Heatley's left hand, The Answer regret to announce the postponement their imminent UK headline club shows.

The affected shows are as follows: Apr 20th Belfast Mandela Hall, Apr 22nd Nottingham Rescue rooms, Apr 24th Glasgow Grand Central. The Above Shows Will Be Rescheduled And All Tix Will Be Valid For The New Dates To Be Announced Soon.

Says singer Cormac Neeson, "We are bitterly disappointed to have to postpone our UK headline shows especially for all our fans who have been waiting so patiently for so long. We have left the decision to the absolute last minute in the hope that the medical problem with our drummer James might get better. Unfortunately his hand is swollen and he is in immense pain. He has struggled with pain-killers to get through the recent 30 minute support sets on the AC/DC tour and whilst he can perform a short support set, it is a medical impossibility for him to perform a full one hour and fifteen minute headline set at present. - more on this story

Marcy Playground Return
PR reports: On their riveting and keenly-anticipated fourth album, Leaving Wonderland... in a fit of rage, Marcy Playground return to action in triumphant fashion. (Expected Release Date: July 14th, 2009)

Armed with songs born of an intense and turbulent period in his life, MP's main man, singer/guitarist John Wozniak, has fashioned a record that digs deep, taking the listener on an exhilarating and satisfying emotional and musical rollercoaster ride. Its creator is justifiably proud of his accomplishment, calling it "by far the best thing I've ever done. This is the most personal record I've ever made, and I think it's the thing that will connect most with other people."

A highly original and melodic modern rock band, Marcy Playground exploded onto the scene back in 1997 with the insanely irresistible hit single "Sex And Candy," a song that notched [a then-record] fifteen consecutive weeks at number one on Billboard's U.S. Modern Rock tracks chart and a self-titled debut album that went on to sell 1.7 million copies. Subsequent albums Shapeshifter (1999) and Marcy Playground 3 ("MP3") (2004), while commercially obscure by comparison, showcased two periods of tremendous creative evolution for the group, and have gone on to enjoy something of "cult classic" status among the band's many loyal fans. - more on this story

"I've not done anything like this before. I'm expecting just a whole lot of fun," Steven Tyler recently told billboard.com. "I think they'll find it very interesting when I tell them that it's not really necessarily about practicing and hitting all your notes. I think it's all about finding a passion, a way of singing something in a way that nobody has ever done it before."

The session kicks off with a gala opening night bash at the Gibson Guitar Showroom in Beverly Hills on April 29th. Campers will be divided into separate bands, each guided by a rock star counselor, and spend the days writing and rehearsing. Nights are filled with jam sessions and master classes. Camp culminates with each band recording its own original song at the historic Capitol Studios in Hollywood and performing at the Whisky A Go Go. The best song will be played by famed DJ Mancow on his nationally syndicated radio show.

Von Iva, Sick Of Sarah and Gliss Team Up for Emerald Tour
Big Hassle reports: Three bands from the country's underground are coming together to set the nation on its ear as they trek across the country in the Emerald Tour. Von Iva and Sick Of Sarah begin the tour on May 2 in Bloomington, Indiana, and Gliss joins the fun starting June 3 in Tuscon, Arizona.

Von Iva's new self-released EP, "Girls on Film" was released on October 28, and the ladies have been looping the US ever since. On December 19, Von Iva made their big screen debut in the Warner Brothers release starring Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel "Yes Man," playing the fictional band Munchausen by Proxy behind Deschanel. Von Iva has scored many recent placements including The L Word, Life, The City, Tap Tap Revenge, the BAFTA Awards, and more. The ladies recently completed the HELL on HEELS w/ Semi Precious Weapons and Nico Vega tour, and will support Glasvegas on their debut US/Canadian tour.... all this leading into the forthcoming Emerald tour this Spring with Gliss, Sick of Sarah, and a few dates with the Boxing Lesson and Semi Precious Weapons. LA Weekly said of the band, "The trio's shimmering electro-pop is firmly based on funky, sleek disco rhythms, reintroducing jaded hipsters to that carnally cathartic activity known as dancing..."

Minneapolis Sick Of Sarah released its debut album last summer. The band has received accolades from diverse places like Spin Magazine which included the band in a "Buzzcatcher" story comparing the band to the Breeders and Sleater-Kinney and last year won best emerging artist at last year's Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The all female five piece was given the award by winning over the festival crowd whose texts determined the day's winner from the Emerging Artist stage. The band had previously won MTV's virtual Kaya's battle of the bands, and it was through that they attracted the attention of the LA indie label Adamant. Sick Of Sarah who has toured throughout the Midwest was chosen by the cool retail giant Hot Topic to play a series of shows instores throughout the area. The band's "Not Listening" is the theme song for the Logo produced show Breakfast With Bridget and in addition Sick Of Sarah songs are being licensed MTV, Noggin and Logo. The band future plans include a performance at the first Canadian Rock On The Range on a bill this summer with Rise Against and Rancid. The band recently shot a video for their college radio smash single "Bittersweet."

LA-based Gliss has been creating lush, experimental noise-pop since the trio of Martin Klingman, David Reiss and Victoria Cecilia united in 2003. Since then they have released two albums of feedback-filled bliss and toured with the likes of Smashing Pumpkins, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Editors and the Raveonettes. The band's second LP, Devotion Implosion, is is a moody, hazy romp through the dirty streets of L.A. and the city's late night underbelly. The songs teem with murky, fuzzed-out guitars, hypnotizing bass lines and propulsive rhythms as Martin Klingman and Victoria Cecilia's coolly detached vocals steer them down a dark road that feels like the morning after. NPR exclaimed: "Devotion Implosion is a hazy, beautiful mess." - more on this story
