Kayos reports: On April 21, Eagle will bring two stunning concerts to the Blu-Ray format: Styx One With Everything and Gary Moore & Friends One Night In Dublin A Tribute To Phil Lynott

Joining forces on May 26, 2006 with the 115-piece Contemporary Youth Orchestra, conducted by Liza Grossman, Styx gave the Cleveland residents a night to remember. The music of Styx was embellished by the 60-member chorus backing them on such classics as "Renegade," "Blue Collar Man," and "Crystal Ball." The DVD also includes two new Christmas songs, interview footage, and a "Quake Cam" (a hidden camera on Todd Sucherman for an up-close and personal look at the man at his drum-kit during the set.) Originally released on standard DVD in November 2006, One With Everything can now be enjoyed with even more fervor in the high-def format.

Former Thin Lizzy guitarist extraordinaire Gary Moore gathered his original band comrades to pay tribute to late bassist/frontman Phil Lynott on August 20, 2005. Joining Moore on One Night In Dublin A Tribute To Phil Lynott, was drummer Brian Downey, guitarists Scott Gorham, Eric Bell and Brian Robertson, as well as Jethro Tull bassist Jonathan Noyce. On this day (which would have been Lynott's 56th birthday), this group shook Dublin with a bevy of their worldwide hits"The Boys Are Back In Town," "Jailbreak," and "Don't Believe A Word." This DVD was originally released in March 2006 in the standard format, and is now presented in high-def quality. A truly worthy tribute to the rock legend! - more on this story

David Serby Sets Third Release
conqueroo reports: It has been a big couple of years for David Serby, both professionally and personally. The hard-working Southern California country artist opened the hugely popular Stagecoach Music Festival, received a front page profile in the Los Angeles Times, shared stages with Nashville stars like Tracy Lawrence and Americana heroes like Jim Lauderdale, and met his biological father for the first time.

Now Serby is poised for even bigger things with the release of his third CD, Honky Tonk and Vine. The disc has already attracted pre-release acclaim with Americana music maven Chris Morris extolling it in LA CityBeat as one of the best albums of '09 and calling Serby "a formidable tunesmith who knows the honky-tonk template by heart." The album is due out on the indie Harbor Grove Records on May 11, 2009.

Serby's new record retains all of the classic country stylings that he cultivated so successfully on his first two discs, I Just Don't Go Home (2006) and Another Sleepless Night (2007). Honky Tonk and Vine comes well stocked with tears-in-my-beer weepers like "I Only Smoke When I'm Drinkin'" as well as roadhouse rave-ups like "Don't Even Try." The record races off to a hot start with "Get It in Gear," about a girl who asked Serby to retrieve naked photos of her from a drug dealer. Another true life-inspired tune, "The Heartache's on the Other Sleeve," finds a man enjoying the discovery that his ex-wife, who cheated on him, is being cheated on too.

J.B. Beverley & The Wayward Drifters Want To Give Country Back Its Kick
PR reports: Have you ever wondered what happened to REAL country music? [The same thing that happened to rock, the idiots in suits at the labels took over A&R.] These days, only a few brave souls dare to make the kind of real country music that honors American heritage and culture; the kind of country music rooted in the influence of Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and other legends of the genre; the kind of country music that reflects real life, and not the latest fashion trends. One of the strongest and most charismatic forces in the real country music arena is J.B. Beverley & The Wayward Drifters.

The band is poised to release their new album May 5th on Helltrain Records. Watch America Roll By was recorded at J.B.'s Rebel Roots Studio in Richmond, VA. Described by an onlooker as "an organic road record that may as well have soil falling off its roots", the album is the follow up to their much-praised debut, Dark Bar and a Jukebox. The core of the Drifter's life is touring, so a string of dates start on March 11 and stretch into May.

A "retired" hobo, Beverley takes his experiences from the road, the trains, and everyday American people he encounters, and them into some of the most heartfelt, real-deal country music to see the light of day in a long time. With driving acoustic rhythm guitar, slamming upright bass slapping, amazing banjo rolls, and other blistering accompaniment, Beverley and his "high lonesome" voice have earned a solid reputation for their live shows. The band have toured extensively with Hank Williams III and often share the stage with compatriots like Wayne "The Train" Hancock, Dale Watson, Lee Rocker and Bill Kirchen. They've also has made fans out of the likes of John Carter Cash, Slim Jim Phantom of the Stray Cats, Bruce Springsteen, and Piedmont Blues great Warner Williams. - more on this story
