Fans Animate Willie Nelson
PR reports: GoAnimate.com, the online platform that enables everyone to create their own customizable animations, today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Legacy Recordings (a Sony Music Entertainment's catalog division) to provide Willie Nelson fans the ability to create their own animated Willie adventures.

This functionality is launched in tandem with today's release of Willie Nelson's album, Naked Willie, and enables users to include tracks from the new album as well as Willie classics -- in their animations. GoAnimate.com also launched its new slideshow offering today, enabling users to upload their own photos into an automatically generated animated slideshow featuring cartoon Willie and his music.

Naked Willie, which is available at all physical and digital retail outlets today, is a 17-track collection of songs recorded by Willie Nelson between 1966-1970. In this collection, Willie and his longtime sidekick, harmonica player Mickey Raphael, set out to "un-produce" a series of tracks to retrieve the original sound and get back to their unmasked essence to hear them naked. As a result, Naked Willie lays bare Willie's original vision of these songs for the first time. In honor of Willie achieving his creative vision, GoAnimate.com is now enabling everyone to express their own Willie-inspired creativity with Willie Nelson characters, scenes and music. - more on this story

Metal Band Goes From Anger To Serenity
PR reports: The Dutch Melodic Metal band Edge Of Anger has confirmed today that they will continue under the name Edge Of Serenity.

Frontman Wietze Halma about this decision : " We experienced lately more and more problems, as more bands used the name Edge Of Anger, and this resulted in all kind of confusions.

As a band, we felt that this was a good moment to do something about this, as we are just joined by 2 new band members ( Jaco Dekker and Noud Smeets ) and about to release our debut-album this Spring via our new label Romulus X Records. So, it was "now, or never ". We are proud of our new name EDGE OF SERENITY and cannot wait to reveal more details about our upcoming debut album "The Chaos Theory" and start touring !" - more

Metal Blade Ravage
MBR reports: Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce the addition of Boston Massachusetts metalers Ravage to its roster. The heavy metal band Ravage began as the idea of two young brothers from Boston Massachusetts, whom fans would come to know as Al Ravage and Eli Joe, who wished to form a band that could bring bombastic heavy metal back to prominence and crush the insipid alterna-grunge music craze of the mid-90's.

Though the barely-highschool aged rockers had mighty ambitions when they played their first gig in 1996, they quickly learned that Rome was not built in a day, and Ravage had to work on honing their sound and forging their way through the local underground metal scene. Now in their early 20's Ravage is ready to show the metal world what they're made of with their Metal Blade debut The End of Tomorrow, which will drop in the late summer of 2009 and features cover art by none other than Ed Repka (MEGADETH, DEATH, AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE).

"Everyone in the band is thrilled to have the opportunity to have our music released by a record company that is not only one of the greatest heavy metal record labels ever, but also a label that is currently home to many of our favorite bands (such as LIZZY BORDEN, CANNIBAL CORPSE, KING DIAMOND, AMON AMARTH etc). Metal Blade has released some of the classic metal albums of all time and Ravage welcomes the opportunity to make our own mark on the scene. Only Brian and Metal Blade had the guts to put this deal together with a band that has never bowed to trends or used gimmickry to fit in, a band that has always forged ahead toward fresh musical ground in the face of those who wanted us to become some sort of goofy retro-act or clone of whatever was hip. So on behalf of the band, I'd like to thank all the fans in the local scene, national scene and abroad who have stuck by us thus far, the promoters who've dared book us, the small labels who dared release our early work, those in the press who dared stand up to the feeble-minded trendmakers, the [few] DJ's who've played us, and all the great bands we've played with. This is just another step on a long road as we continue our mission to put out some quality, no-bull----, heavy metal music that real metalheads can be proud of. Keep headbangin' with us and RAVAGE IN PEACE!!!" commented singer Al RAVAGE - more on this story
