Muse Uprising on MTV Today
Warner Bros reports: The video for "Uprising," the first single from Muse's new album The Resistance, will premiere in the U.S. on MTV starting at 3AM, opening AMTV on Thursday, September 17th. The video, which was directed by New York's Hydra, will also premiere that day on MTV2, mtvU, MTV Hits, MTV.com, MTV Tr3s, VH1.com, and Logo. The video will also be available all day on mtvmusic.com.

"Uprising" is the British rock trio's first No. 1 single in the U.S. as it currently sits atop the Mediabase Alternative Rock radio chart. The track is the first single from the band's new studio album The Resistance, which was produced by Muse and mixed by famed audio engineer Mark 'Spike' Stent. The current SPIN magazine cover stars, who performed at Sunday's 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, will be special guests at select shows for U2, including two shows at Giants Stadium in New York, on September 23rd and 24th.

For the last few years, Muse, which is vocalist/guitarist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dom Howard, have played to sell-out crowds throughout the U.S., Asia, Australia, and Europe in support of their previous album Black Holes and Revelations, which debuted at No. 9 on Billboard's album chart in July 2006. In the U.S., the band--who hail from the tiny town of Teignmouth in Devon, England--performed at the Lollapalooza Festival, the Austin City Limits Music Festival, Las Vegas's Vegoose Festival, and KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas and sold out New York City's Madison Square Garden and The Forum in Los Angeles.

PR reports: Suicide Silence, will bring their devastating live performance to the masses alongside the legendary Megadeth this fall. The North American trek, which kicks off on Nov. 14th, also features Machine Head with support coming from Arcanium and Warbringer on select shows.

Suicide Silence kicked off their worldwide touring cycle for their new album, No Time To Bleed, as part of the massive North American "Pedal To The Metal" tour performing alongside Mudvayne, Black Label Society, Static-X, Dope and Bury Your Dead. The band are firing on all cylinders and are deadlier than ever. Mitch Lucker (vocals) further states: "It is a ----in' huge honor to be touring this fall throughout North America with Megadeth and Machine Head, who our entire band worship. We go out on stage with one sole intention in mind: to blow people's ----in' heads off. Orphanage Driven Again
MMP reports: Orphanage was probably one of the most influential Dutch Gothic metal bands, until their split up in 2005. Leaving behind a legacy of four amazing full-length albums, the band managed to capture the sheer essence of the genre in their music, each time delivering an unforgettable masterpiece. "Driven", Orphanage's final album from 2004, is by far the group's greatest work, showcasing brilliance in every aspect

"Driven" was originally released by Nuclear Blast on April 13th, 2004. Right from the opening track it was clear that this was by far the group's heaviest and most brutal work yet. The amazing mixture of raw, edgy guitars with gloomy, atmospheric keyboard passages, backed with a magnificent collaboration of Oosthoek's growling and Van Der Aa's beautiful singing brought over an hour of truly enchanting Gothic metal. With such top-notch compositions as "The Sign", "Dead Grounds" and the instrumental "Black Gate", Orphanage proved their ability to write sophisticated, almost progressive music, perfectly joining heaviness and melody. The reviews for "Driven" were very promising most critics praised the band for their similarities to such acts as early Crematory, The Gathering and even Meshuggah and Cynic, while some simply dubbed Orphanage "a brutal version of Within Temptation". Unfortunately, despite the successful reception of their fourth album, on October 18th, 2005 Orphanage officially announced their disbandment. "Driven" remains the strongest point in the group's entire discography, delivering a prime dose of brilliantly constructed Gothic metal.

Metal Mind Productions will re-release "Driven" on 5th October in Europe and 1st December in USA (via MVD). New digipak edition is limited to 2000 copies. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on a golden disc.

Jawbox Reissue Set
PR reports: Seminal DC post-punk band Jawbox will reissue their consummate release, For Your Own Special Sweetheart, on November 24th. The album, which was originally released on Atlantic Records in 1994, sees the band returning to their roots at the renowned Dischord Records as well as their own DeSoto label, which will work together to release this reissue. Jawbox was one of the cornerstones of the pivotal DIY punk label, in good company with bands such as Fugazi, Minor Threat, Rites of Spring and Shudder To Think.

With the help of Dischord and engineer Bob Weston (Pixies, Jawbox, and member of Shellac), For Your Own Special Sweetheart is meticulously remastered and will be re-released on both CD and vinyl. And, according to bass player, Kim Coletta, "it just sounds a whole lot better." The collection will include the entire original song line-up along with three additional tracks that appeared on the Savory +3 EP released by Atlantic in 1994. The vinyl version will include a coupon redeemable for free digital download of all songs including the bonus tracks.

Jawbox arose from the primordial pond of DC's raucous, vibrant underground in 1989, bringing with them a loud, fast and spirited brand of punk rock that brought zealous fans into the pit in droves. Jawbox played their first show opening for Fugazi in 1989; For Your Own Special Sweetheart recalls the latter's hardcore leanings. After two releases on Dischord they captured the attention of Atlantic Records, with whom they released For Your Own Special Sweetheart, widely considered to showcase the band at its peak. The combination of heavy rhythms, guitar-driven soundscapes and hooky melodies both hark back to and distinguish the band from their roots among Dischord's finest underground offerings, the boundaries of which they constantly pushed. - more on this story

Yield plays like a collection of the best songs they had at the time, rather than the indulgent album with transitions and little oddities in between.
