Heart Streaming New Album 'Beautiful Broken' Online

(hennemusic) Heart are streaming their upcoming album, "Beautiful Broken", in full ahead of its release this Friday, July 8th. Initially previewed by the lead single and title track - which features a guest appearance by James Hetfield of Metallica - the project was co-produced by guitarist Nancy Wilson and Heart bassist Dan Rothchild, the son of legendary Doors producer Paul Rothchild.

The album sees the Wilson sisters delivering new songs and updated versions of some of their favorite tunes from their catalog, including "City's Burning", "Down On Me," and "Sweet Darlin'".

"Those songs may have fallen through the cracks, in a way, because of where radio was at the time when they were first released," explains Ann Wilson. "Rediscovering those songs, I found ways they emotionally still speak to me."

"There is really a seventies feel to this record both in the sound, and the way we got to the emotional core of each song," adds Nancy. "We picked songs that we always wanted to re-do, plus we've added three new tracks. On both new and old, we have the band playing together the way we used to. This is classic Heart." Enter Shikari Frontman Reflects On Struggle With Anxiety Disorder

(TeamRock Radio) Enter Shikari frontman Rou Reynolds has shared his experiences of general anxiety disorder. He recalls "surviving on adrenaline" as he suffered from insomnia, exhaustion and experienced a severe panic attack last year.

He says on Twitter: "It's strange to think that this time last year I'd only slept six hours this week. I was halfway through 12 weeks of insomnia and general anxiety disorder.

"After suffering from exhaustion I had the nastiest panic attack of my life and I was hospitalized, forcing us to cancel our Download warm-up show. At its worst, some mornings after failing to sleep at all once more, I'd get up feeling utterly distraught and just burst into tears - and the months that followed became some of the most strange and difficult of my life."

Reynolds continues: "I don't remember Download festival at all. I was a shell of a man surviving on adrenaline. Even had vitamin shots to the arse. I've never felt further from the little cockpit of one's mind. I felt detached, inept and scared." Read more here.

Devin Townsend Project Announce Euro Tour

(Prog) Devin Townsend Project have announced a European tour. The dates will take place in 2017, and have been set up in support of latest album Transcendence which is due out on September 9. Support will be shared with Between The Buried And Me and Leprous.

It marks the band's first release since 2014's Z2 double album, and mainman Townsend previously said it would bridge the gap between that record and his upcoming symphonic project.

Townsend said: "Transcendence, like every record I've done prior, is an extension of what's been going on in my world, represented in a new batch of songs. I'm 44 years old now, and this is where I have been over the past two years since Z2.

"The result of this process is a record that I truly think the intention of is special. I found gas to put into the tank and am glad I did.

"I think the intention, the theme, and the participation of everyone involved allows this album to act like a fulcrum between the past few years and what I intend to do next with the symphony. I am very proud of it and everyone involved."

Townsend will be joined onstage by Dave Young, Mike St-Jean, Ryan Van Poederooyen and Brian Waddel. See the dates here.

Shinedown's Zach Myers Reveals Secret To Band's Success

(Classic Rock) Shinedown's Zach Myers says honesty is the key to their success as a band. The singer and guitarist reports that writing about their own experiences rather than outside issues keeps them grounded - and their fans appreciate it.

Myers tells Altpress: "It's just about being honest. U2 is my favorite band of all time - it's that raw honesty that connects me to music. So, when we make music, we're going to write about what we've experienced or gone through.

"We're not going to go, 'Oh, this is on TV' - we've never been able to write about outside subjects. I think our fans can tell that it keeps us honest to who we are." Watch the full interview here.

North Mississippi Allstars' Luther Dickinson Plans Euro Tour

(The Blues) The North Mississippi Allstars' Luther Dickinson will tour Europe in September, including four dates in the UK. He is on the road to support third solo album Blues & Ballads, a two-volume title released in February.

Dickinson recently said: "The album celebrates the American oral tradition of blues and folk songs, not only being passed down and evolving, but being transcribed - the original recording technique - and entered into the discipline of written sheet music and songbooks.

"Is it too late to tell your and your community's tales through the vinyl groove and the block lettered, mimeographed page? Never! The lives and legends of modern-day folk music heroes will live on. The spirit of American roots rock'n'roll will shout to the man, the masses, and disposable pop culture: 'F*** off. Even in death, the art lives on.'" See the tour dates here.

Scott Walker's 'The Childhood Of The Leader' Score Set For Release

(Prog) Scott Walker's score for feature film The Childhood Of The Leader will be released on August 19. It's the singer-songwriter's first original soundtrack since his work for 1999 film Pola X.

Directed by Brady Corbet, The Childhood Of A Leader is partly inspired by Jean-Paul Sartre's short story of the same name - a tense psychological drama tracing the formative years of a young boy and set against the backdrop of the 1919 Paris Peace Conference that led to the establishment of the Treaty Of Versailles.

Walker, who has previously worked with American outfit Sunn O))), once again teams up with longtime collaborators, co-producer Peter Walsh and musical director Mark Warman, with the latter conducting an orchestra comprised of 46 string players and a 16-piece brass section for the studio recording.
