Country music legend Loretta Lynn passed peacefully in her sleep early Tuesday morning, October 4th, at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Lynn was 90.

Her family shared, "Our precious mom, Loretta Lynn, passed away peacefully this morning, October 4th, in her sleep at home at her beloved ranch in Hurricane Mills." (read more)


Rage Against The Machine have announced that they have officially canceled their 2023 North American tour due to frontman Zack de la Rocha's on stage injury.

He injured his leg during a concert in Chicago on July 11th, and he did manage to finish the summer leg of the tour, but be now shares that he needs more time to recover. (read more)


Ozzy Osbourne has released a behind-the-scenes look at the music video for his Eric Clapton collaboration, "One Of Those Days", from his recently released album, "Patient Number 9".

The Black Sabbath legend recently told Classic Rock that Clapton suggested that he change a lyric on the track because it might cause controversy. The line in question was, "One of those days that I don't believe in Jesus." (read more)


The Original Misfits have announced that they will playing a special New Year's Eve (December 31st) concert at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

The band, featuring original vocalist Glenn Danzig and original bassist Jerry Only along with guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein, have recruited Circle Jerks and Tiger Army to support them at the show. (read more)


(hennemusic) Black Sabbath will release reissues of 1980's "Heaven And Hell" and 1981's "Mob Rules" albums next month. The iconic band's first two records with Ronnie James Dio - which were remastered and expanded with rare and unreleased music for a North American release in 2021 - will now be made available in Europe.

Following the 1979 firing of Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath brought in Dio as a creative partner, frontman and vocalist for "Heaven And Hell", which saw a renewed return to form for the group with songs like "Neon Knights", "Die Young" and the epic title track; it went on to reach the US Top 30 and become the group's first UK Top 10 set in 5 years. (hennemusic) The Scorpions are sharing a lyric video for "Out Go The Lights", a bonus track featured on the Japanese edition of their latest album, "Rock Believer."

Co-produced by the Scorpions and Hans-Martin Buff, the group recorded their nineteenth studio record in their hometown of Hannover, Germany during the pandemic. (read more)


System of a Down's Serj Tankian has released a visualizer video for his new song, "The Race", a track from his forthcoming five-song EP, "Perplex Cities", which arrives October 21st.

Serj said of the EP, "This whole collection of songs within Perplex Cities is a completely different sound than what I've done before. More electronic, subtle and deeper in terms of its layers of presentation musically. Perplex Cities gives off an aura that is unique and unlike my previous releases". (read more)


Former Judas Priest frontman Tim "Ripper" Owens has released a music video for his brand new track "Return to Death Row," which is the title track from his forthcoming EP.

The six-track EP will be released on CD, LP, and all digital formats via Perseverance Media Group later this fall. The effort was produced by Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed) and Nick Bellmore (Jasta, Dee Snider). (read more)


(hennemusic) Alter Bridge has released a lyric video for "This Is War", the latest single from their forthcoming album, "Pawns & Kings." The song is the opening track on the Florida band's seventh studio record, which was produced by longtime associate Michael Baskette.

Alter Bridge will launch "Pawns & Kings" on a fall European tour that will begin in Hamburg, Germany on November 1; the series will see the group joined by Halestorm and Mammoth WVH. (read more)


Dredg have announced that they are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their second album, EL CIELO, with two special limited-edition box sets, which go on sale Friday, October 7 exclusively on the band's online store.

Both packages include the original critically acclaimed album remastered as double 12" custom marble swirl printed vinyl with a vinyl-etched track listing, and a 16-page 7" booklet. There will also be various EL CIELO merch packages available, as well an extra special "Super pack" collection with includes all of the above plus an autographed cover, wall flag, custom t-shirt and sweatshirt, sticker and magnet pack, and an eye mask (for the amplest dreaming experience). The 16-page 7" booklets contain the album's original hand-written letters from people who suffered from sleep disorders and their experiences with sleep paralysis, which was part of the inspiration for the album's music and lyrics. Gogol Bordello will be celebrating the 15th anniversary of their album Super Taranta! with a special limited edition vinyl repress that will arrive on December 1st.

The limited edition double LP includes brand new gatefold artwork, all new tracklist sequence handpicked by frontman Eugene Hutz, two previously unreleased tracks as well as a commemorative poster. (read more)

Depeche Mode have announced that they will be releasing a brand new album called "Memento Mori" next spring and have announced their first tour in five years to support it.

The tour will be kicking off with North American arena dates beginning in Sacramento on March 23rd and wrapping up on April 14th in New York City at Madison Square Garden. (read more)


Lucero have shared a lyric video for their brand new single, "One Last F.U.". The track comes from their forthcoming album, "Should've Learned By Now", which will arrive on February 24th.

Ben Nichols had this to say about the new song, "'One Last F.U.' is where this whole new record started. It's a song that was too offensive and goofy to be on the last few Lucero albums. (read more)


David Crosby has shared a video for "1974 Live At The Capitol Theatre", which comes from his very first solo live album, "David Crosby & The Lighthouse Band Live at the Capitol Theatre."

It set to be released on November 25th as a CD, as well as a DVD package and digitally. Republic sent over the following details: Continuing to forge new paths in his eighth decade, Crosby again joins forces with Becca Stevens, Michelle Willis and Michael League, the three musicians known as The Lighthouse Band, who he's been working with since 2016's Lighthouse album. The Damn Truth have released a music video for their forthcoming single, "Look Innocent". The visual comes ahead of the track track, which is set to be released this Friday, October 7th.

Lead singer Lee-la Baum had this to say about the new single and video, "We have a bit of a habit of putting ourselves into dangerous situations for our videos, from hanging upside down and being spun around, and now, in this video, walking backwards into crowds and cars at rush hour. If there's a rock'n'roll nine lives, we've used up quite a few so far." (read more)


Sammy Hagar shared that he was impressed with Wolfgang Van Halen's performance playing his late father Eddie Van Halen's parts at first Taylor Hawkins Tribute concert and could see the Wolfgang playing guitar at the proposed Van Halen tribute concert.

Hagar made comments during a recent interview with Rolling Stones. He was asked if he has spoken with Wolfgang that much since 2004 when he last toured with Van Halen. (read more)


(hennemusic) Bruce Springsteen joined The Killers as a surprise guest during final songs of the Las Vegas band's October 1st concert at New York's at Madison Square Garden.

The group welcomed the New Jersey rocker to the stage for their three-song encore, which opened with Springsteen's 1978 classic, "Badlands", and was followed by the group's 2008 track, "A Dustland Fairytale" - which they re-recorded and issued as a duet with Springsteen last year - and wrapped up with the iconic "Born To Run." (hennemusic) Eddie Vedder and Stevie Nicks were among the artists that performed Tom Petty songs at the Pearl Jam rocker's Ohana Festival this past weekend in sync with the 5th anniversary of the passing of the Florida singer.

Petty passed away on October 2, 2017 at the age of 66 in a Santa Monica, CA hospital after being found unconscious and in cardiac arrest at his Malibu home. (read more)


Dutch hard rockers Frontline just released their debut album: "Scream All You Want" and to celebrate we asked Arti Flinkerbusch to tell us about the song "Keep It A Secret". Here is the story:

Most of the songs I write have dark and cynical themes, but this song is an exception. When I was writing it, I was listening to Ted Nugent's first album, which has a feisty, exciting track on it called "Queen of the Forest". I wanted to capture a similar kind of vibe, and first wrote the music for what ultimately became "Keep it a secret". By then I could already tell that it would revolve around a catchy chorus telling the audience something exciting. (continue)
