Blitz Vega's long-awaited debut album Northern Gentleman recently emerged to strong critical acclaim - a record that was testament to both legendary Smiths' bassist Andy Rourke's life-long creativity as well as bandmate Kav Sandhu's dedication to completing a fitting tribute to his much-missed friend. Now Blitz Vega return to the band's roots by releasing Jem Haynes' remix of "LA Vampire," one of the very first songs that they collaborated on together.
The original "LA Vampire" is one of Blitz Vega's finest moments, pulsating electro-rock that captured the dark, sleazy undercurrent of Los Angeles. Jem Haynes has reshaped it in an entirely new light, a tech-house juggernaut of heavyweight grooves, clattering beats and a vibe that captures the hedonistic atmosphere of his time as a regular at Manchester club institution Sankeys. He also takes a playful approach to highlighting elements from the original, with vocals distorted intoeuphoric waves of sound and select bursts of chiming guitar. (continue)

Hard Rock/Alt.Metal band Worldwide Panic have released their furious new track "Break Me Down". It's the first release from the Los Angeles, CA based band's upcoming sophomore LP, which is slated for release in the first quarter of 2025. The song was produced by the legendary Bob Marlette (Seether, Airbourne, Saliva; Rob Zombie) and mastered by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, Demon Hunter, Rob Zombie). The track is a rant against authority figures who try to break you down and control you through mind games.
"Break Me Down" starts off with a middle-eastern flavored sitar line, and then explodes into an ominous down-tuned rhythm, bolstered by crunching guitars and thunderous drums that sounds like equal parts Disturbed, Rammstein and Rob Zombie. The earworm chorus lingers long after the track has ended - making for a compelling anthem of frustration. (continue)

Consistently iconoclastic and forever changing the script, The Dandy Warhols debut the video for their subtly-named single "Alcohol and Cocainemarijuananicotine" from their latest album ROCKMAKER which was released earlier this year via Sunset Blvd.
Alternately titled "Musta Always Been A Thing," the mini-film was directed by NYC-based writer/ director/producer Elizabeth S. Acevedo (whose short film Mirage was nominated for Cinematography at HollyShorts) and features a very atypical musical narrative of sex and futuristic drugs.
"I'm consistently blown away by Elizabeth Acevedo," says vocalist/guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor about the viscerally gutsy video's direction. "Great, heavy-handed style... It's gritty human surrealism. I am so stoked that we got her to make the film for this single." (continue)
