Black Sabbath's legendary guitarist Tony Iommi says that the material that he is working on for his next solo album ranges from acoustic to heavy, but he also admits that he is not in hurry to finish the project as he is "taking [his] time with it."
The album would mark the first solo effort for the metal icon since his 2005 album "Fused" with Glenn Hughes, although he has put out a lot of material from other projects since then including "WhoCares" that reunited him with Deep Purple legend Ian Gillan in 2012. (continue)
Linkin Park have shared a new video featuring their live debut of the song "Two Faced" that was captured at the band's November 15th concert at the Allianz Parque in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The song comes from the band's recently released reunion album "From Zero", which just debuted at No. 1 on rock album charts across the world including The UK, Germany, France, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Australia, and New Zealand. (continue)
Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher had a strong reaction when he was asked by a fan via social media about comments made by Sex Pistols' Glen Matlock in a recent interview with NME.
The UK music publication published a story and interview with Matlock earlier this week and during the chat they asked him about the excitement surrounding the Oasis reunion. Glan responded, "If you're a fan, it's understandable. They've got lots of fans. I've always seen Oasis as a bit Status Quo. [With Quo], to hear one song once was enough. It's a bit like that with Oasis: to hear one song once is enough. I just find them kind of samey. I know the guys. (continue)
Oceano frontman Adam Warren has shared an update with fans about his decision to leave the group in the wake of some online controversary about his band taking part in the 'America's Rejects' tour with Attila, Dealer and Nathan James.
Warren shared, "I'm moving on from Oceano for real, for real. Great memories but an even greater future ahead for me. I've been at it 15 yrs. GG! Let's push forward! Juliet's Not Dead have released a music video for their new single "Battle Scarred". The track comes from the group's forthcoming album, "This World Is Ours", which will be hitting stores on February 7, 2025.
Stevie Stoker said of the new single, "Battle Scarred is so powerful, not just in sound but in its meaning. Many of us have had moments where we have suffered from depression. Magnolia have released a brand new track called "Five Hundred" with accompanying music video. The song is the group's third single, following the release of their previous songs "Television," and "Feed Me".

Mike Portnoy has shared a message with fans after Dream Theater concluded the first European leg of their 40th Anniversary Tour in Amsterdam, Netherlands on November 24th that was also his first trek with the group in 14 years.

August Burns Red release an instrumental holiday cover song every year. This year, they've chosen the classical track "Waltz of the Flowers" from The Nutcracker by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and have given it quite the guitar-driven and metallic makeover.
"In keeping with our annual tradition, we are excited to reveal this year's August Burns Red holiday song," the band states. "We tackled the classical ballet 'Waltz of the Flowers,' taken from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. It was so much fun adding our spin to the timeless melodies written by this legendary composer. Julien-K adds veteran touring powerhouse drummer Galen Waling as an official band member. Waling is known for his work in Lords Of Acid, PIG, and Left Spine Down.
Singer Ryan Shuck explained, "We work with so many creatives in our Julien-K extended family, we had always thought of the band as much bigger than just Amir, Fu, and I. It's normal for us to work with different players, writers, producers in the course of doing what we do - and that won't change. But as the band has become such a regular touring entity, Galen just fit so solidly into our live world that we started asking him to join us in the studio as well. The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) recently unveiled several major announcements, including that the Canadian punk rock icons Sum 41 will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the 54th Annual JUNO Awards. This will be done during a special presentation and performance presented by JUNOS Premier Sponsor, TD Bank Group.

Whitechapel frontman Phil Bozeman has announced that the band has pulled out of their plans to join Thy Art Is Murder on a Latin American tour, so that he can focus on him mental health concerns.
Bozeman had this to say, To all of our Mexican, Costa Rican, Colombian, Chilean, Brazilian and Argentinian fans. We regret to inform you that we will not be embarking on this tour due to mental health concerns regarding myself. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers and import specialists assigned to the Los Angeles/Long Beach Seaport, in conjunction with U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) investigators, and Gibson officials, announced the seizure of over 3,000 counterfeit Gibson guitars with a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), had they been genuine, of $18,742,820 (USD).
CBP officers in coordination with HSI special agents and LASD investigators intercepted the suspected cargo arriving in ocean containers from Asia. CBP's Consumer Products and Mass Merchandising Center of Excellence (CPMM) assisted in estimating the MSRP of the shipment. Gibson confirmed that the guitars intercepted were in fact counterfeit, noting that legitimate Gibson guitars are only Made in the U.S.A. (continue)

The chorus of "Set Sail Alone" was brought to me by one of my closest friends, indie folk singer/songwriter Thomas LaVine. One night, he said "I wrote something that felt like you would write it."
