On August 30, 1972, John Lennon and Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band, backed by Elephant's Memory, and joined by special guests, headlined two historic One to One Benefit Concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City. These performances included an afternoon matinee and an evening performance, to a combined audience of 40,000 people, raising more than $1.5 million to support children with special needs, including children from the Willowbrook State School in Staten Island, N.Y, a state-supported institution for mentally handicapped children that gained national infamy after the horrible conditions and questionable medical practices the children endured were exposed to the public.
These were John's final and only full-length solo concerts after leaving The Beatles. It was almost 40 years ago that L.A. Guns established themselves as the undisputed sleaze kings of the Sunset Strip, and, eventually, the world. At this point in time, most bands in their position would be content to lay back, rest on their rock 'n' roll laurels and trot out the hits on endless repeat for the fans.
Instead, L.A. Guns, in true down 'n' dirty form, are grinding with the April 4 release of their 15th studio album, LEOPARD SKIN, on Cleopatra Records. The (continue)
Lamb of God's Mark Morton has teamed up with country star Cody Jinks for the brand new track called "Brother", that comes from Mark's forthcoming solo album, "Without The Pain," which arrives on April 11th.
"Brother" was written by Mark, Cody, and country artist Travis Denning. The song's poignant lyrics explore themes of regret, reconciliation, and personal accountability, set against a backdrop of southern rock and bluesy guitar riffs. The track is a deeply emotional reflection on the complexities of family relationships and the scars of unresolved conflict. "On a long bus ride, somewhere in the middle of a Lamb of God tour, I scribbled some lyrics down in my notebook," said Mark. "Sometime after, having paired them with a simple chord progression, I presented my idea to Cody Jinks and Travis Denning during a writing session in Nashville. Three hours later, we walked out with 'Brother.' 'Brother' is a deeply personal song that speaks directly to the theme of family separation and estrangement. I have learned through observation and my own lived experience that it is a universal and all too common phenomenon. We all poured a lot of ourselves into this song and I'm grateful to Cody for singing on it with me. I hope you'll enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it." (continue)

NERiMA just released their brand new single "Reverence" and to celebrate we asked lead vocalist Lexi to tell us about the song. Here is the story:
I wrote "Reverence" way back in 2022 when we were still releasing our first album. I remember messing around on my acoustic and finding those first two chords, and I thought it sounded so... holy. And as a local musician, when I think of something sacred, I think of the spotlight. I've never cared about being famous, but being able to live off of your work is like the holy grail for all of us. So, it started off as a song about the wonders and horrors of fame, but I remember a specific moment that inspired the change in direction. (continue)
