After singer/songwriter David Johansen, legendary co-founder of the New York Dolls, shared his current medical complications publicly this past week, Johansen has been floored by the love he's received from around the world. To share his gratitude, Johansen has released a video message to his fans, sending love and appreciation to everyone who has helped share the fund and wish him well.

Prior to this week, Johansen had not disclosed his diagnosis publicly as he is generally a very private person, however, due to the increasingly severe financial burden his family is facing, he is ready to share his story. On top of the cancer diagnosis, Johansen took a fall on the day after Thanksgiving and broke his back in two places, which required surgery. Despite a successful procedure, David is completely bedridden and incapacitated, relying on around the clock care. OK Go have announced their long awaited fifth studio album And the Adjacent Possible will arrive on April 11. Along with the announcement, the band has unveiled two new tracks off the album, and - in a first for the band - released animated lyric videos by celebrated designers: "A Good, Good Day at Last," which features guest vocals from Ben Harper, Shalyah Fearing, and BEGINNERS, with a TRÜF Creative's surreal animation video. The song track is "Going Home" that has be released along with Karan Singh's meditative lyric video.

"I couldn't be more happy with these songs," shares OK Go frontman, Damian Kulash. "It feels almost like a summary of the many phases we've gone through - the bands we've been. As a whole, it's a live-r, more band-sounding record than our last, but the overall feeling is that it's just us, comfortable in our skin at this point. I guess that comes from feeling like, 'we don't have to plant a flag-our flag is planted.'" (continue)

Simply Saucer's Edgar Breau just released a new single called "Cornpone The King Of Jive", and to celebrate we asked him to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

Cornpone began as just a title for a song in my head. Cornpone would evolve lyrically into a sly and darkly humorous commentary on the lovable outlaws, criminal masterminds and cultic populist figures that populate our history, the morally duplicitous, arrogant and charismatic demigods that inflame the popular imagination and generate change sometimes good but more often harm our culture.
