The Who's Zak Sharkey shared an unreleased cover of T. Rex's "Children of the Revolution" featuring his father Ringo Starr, Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan and Elton John.
Sharkey shared the track back in February and it went largely unnoticed, but after his firing and rehiring by The Who this week, it was rediscovered and is now getting a lot more coverage. (continue)
Celebrated blues singer and guitarist Larry McCray is set to release his powerful new album Heartbreak City on June 13, 2025, via KTBA Records, the label founded by Joe Bonamassa. To mark the announcement, McCray has dropped the album's lead single, "Bye Bye Blues," a soulful, finger-snapping throwback co-written with longtime collaborator Charlie Walmsley that channels the sounds of Johnnie Taylor, Bobby Bland, and Little Milton with a fresh, funky edge.
Produced by Grammy nominated duo Bonamassa and Josh Smith, Heartbreak City is a bold, unfiltered collection that finds McCray at the height of his powers-fusing raw blues with vintage soul, Southern grit, and a hard-won sense of joy. The ten-track album features standout contributions from Reese Wynans, Kirk Fletcher, and background vocalists Jade Macrae and Dannielle De Andrea, as well as guest guitar work from Bonamassa himself. Amazon seems to have leaked the news that the original Alice Cooper Band members will be releasing a new album on July 25th, entitled "The Revenge Of Alice Cooper".
According to the cover art, the album will feature Alice Cooper (lead vocals), Michael Bruce (guitar), Dennis Dunaway (bass) and Neal Smith, as well as drum tracks recorded by the late Glen Buxton. (continue)

The Who guitarist Pete Townshend took to social media this morning (April 19th) to share the news that drummer Zak Starkey "not being asked to step down from The Who."
In post titled "News Flash! Who Backs Zak!", Townshend updated fans on the status of the famed son Beatles legend Ringo Starr with the band. Sawyer Utah has released the official music video for his song "One Last Time", The track is the latest single from his debut EP WHEREVER U ARE.

The song Trouble has been in development for a long long time. Roughly 20 years ago when I was in university I got the itch to start playing guitar and potentially start a band. I had no idea what I was doing and thought it might be a good time to get some lessons so I reached out to my old friend Marco Bressette of Dead Tired to show me the ropes. However, to my surprise he did the exact opposite. He didn't think that what I needed was a teacher and instead said to just start experimenting and the rest would come. (continue)
