Alicia Keys Address Modern Families on New Track

(Radio.com) Alicia Keys' new track "Blended Family (What You Do For Love)" addresses the love that binds modern families--stepfathers, half-siblings, baby-mamas and step kids.

Keys says she felt inspired by the role husband Swizz Beatz' kids by former wife Mashonda play in her life, and the maturity with which the adults have faced challenges.

"It means so much to me and our whole family," said Keys in a prepared statement. "The understanding, compassion and support we've found is a powerful testament to the healing that comes when we choose love. Especially for the kids' the most important part of our lives. Celebrating Mashonda for our commitment to each other with support and true growth." Read more here.

Gorillaz Hint at New Album and Release Jaguar Clip

(Radio.com) Gorillaz have been coy about specifics regarding their (rumored) next album, but they've reunited for a partnership with British auto manufacturer Jaguar.

The virtual band lent their image to Jaguar's program to empower female engineers, with guitarist "Noodle" as the face of the project. In a new viral video for the partnership, Noodle takes a Jag for a spin around a race track and drops some witticisms about innovation and sustainability.

"It's a baby-just two years old-and it only uses electric cars," he says. "Think of all the research and development into electrical engines! It will have benefits for the whole world, so I want to nurture it, support it and help it grow strong. Like one of those Tamagotchi. Remember them? Japanese invention."

Gorillaz animator Jamie Hewelett directed the video and Jaguar announced Noodle will become the "flag-bearer for Jaguar's newly launched Formula E [electric car racing] team."

In an interview with engineer Charanya Ravi, Noodle drops a hint that she's been "moonlighting from a secret mission to revolutionize music all over again." Watch the video here.

Adam Lambert Sparks Sam Smith Collaboration Speculation

(Radio.com) Sam Smith and Adam Lambert are good buds (and even slight twins given a certain lighting), but are they working on something together? Something that would likely be an emotionally-laden pop track blending their two styles and voices?

The jury is still out on that one, but Lambert started the rumor when he shared a video on his Instagram page last week(October 7). In it, he and Smith ride around London.

The two initially just stare goofily at the camera before Lambert croaks "London town" in an affected accent. Smith banters back at his buddy, before offering up a new hashtag, "Rickshaw vibes," after the jumbling and bouncy ride they're in. Read more here.

Jana Kramer's Husband Apologizes For His Behavior

(Radio.com) Jana Kramer has had a tumultuous personal life when it comes to her romantic relationships. She separated from her third husband, Michael Caussin, in August after accusing him of cheating. He later entered a rehab facility for "undisclosed reasons." Now, without going into too much detail, he's taking ownership and offering Kramer an apology.

"I acknowledge that certain actions and behaviors have caused issues in my marriage and I am deeply sorry for the pain I have caused Jana," he told People. "I have and will continue to take the steps needed to change who I am as a person in order to be a better husband and father."

Speaking with the magazine, Kramer admitted that she fell hard for Caussin when they met in 2014. "Mike was the biggest of the betrayals because it was the first time in a relationship where I truly loved the version of me," she said. "I didn't feel I had to prove that I was good enough, I was vulnerable and finally at peace with myself." The two welcomed a daughter in January. Read more here.

Coheed And Cambria Refuse To Follow Boundaries

(Metal Hammer) Coheed And Cambria drummer Josh Eppard says the band have forged their own path throughout their career - and it means they are free to "do anything" they want in the studio.

They released their eighth album The Color Before The Sun in 2015 - the first time they've moved away from frontman Claudio Sanchez's Amory Wars concept.

Guitarist Travis Stever said earlier this year that they could return to making concept records. But as to what genre the band fit into, Eppard says he doesn't know as they're lucky enough to be able to pick and choose what type of music they perform.

The sticksman tells The Aquarian: "Even when we were kids, before record deals or tours, it has always been such a wide net. It has always been such an eclectic mix of music. I'm still not sure what kind of band we are.

"As far as genre splitting, or having to define things, I'm really not sure. I'm 36 years old, I don't know what's hot on the streets anymore. I know when I hear music and it speaks to me, that it speaks to me. I could care less if it's cool or hip or what genre it is.

"As far as Coheed goes, it's always been an uncomfortably pop melody, and then the next song could be heavy as hell, but that's always what we've done." Read more here.

How Metallica Pig Attack Became Immortalized On Album Cover

(Metal Hammer) Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett has recalled being attacked with a pig's head and a ham sandwich while playing the Monsters Of Rock festival at Donington in 1985.

And he's told how the moment came to be immortalized in the album artwork of classic album Master Of Puppets. He lived through the experience soon after he'd become a vegetarian, which made it all the more unpleasant for him.

Speaking in a video that promotes their book Back To The Front, documenting the making of Master Of Puppets, Hammett says: "Someone threw a pig's head up on stage. I couldn't believe it. someone actually went to a butcher's shop, got a pig's head, put it in some sort of receptacle, drove, carried it into the show and waited for the moment to launch that pig's head."

He played on while thinking angrily: "My guitar smells like devilled ham - this is killing me!" while his roadie and photographer Ross Halfin looked on from the side of the stage.

Hammett adds: "I remember looking over to my guitar tech, who was laughing, and Ross Halfin was standing right next to him, and Ross took the shot. That's the shot that's on the back of Master Of Puppets." Watch the full interview clip and read more here.

Beanie Sigel Releases Another Meek Mill Diss Track

(Radio.com) The ongoing war of words between Beanie Sigel and Meek Mill continued on Friday (October 7) with a new diss track from the man who considers himself to be Philadelphia's first king of rap and wants Meek's respect.

In "Goodnight," Sigel begins by invoking the name of his family members. He goes on to rap about how Meek has been going after his livelihood, which in turn affects his family. And Sigel is having none of that garbage. "N—- this only a stick-up/ Don't turn it to an ambulance pick-up/ Get that s— up," he raps before beginning a long verse explaining the impoverished conditions in which he grew up. "Or feel that wrath from all them nights I suffered/ With no supper, just one bread and butter/ One bed four deep, no heat, my little covers/ Shivering, laying in the piss of my lil brother," he raps.

The two Philly rappers have been beefing ever since Sigel claimed he wrote some lines on Meek's diss track against The Game, "Ooouuu." Soon after that remark, Sigel was knocked out backstage by one of Meek's people and from there he hasn't remained quiet about going after his fellow Philly rapper. Miranda Lambert's 'The Weight of These Wings' Is Double Album

(Radio.com) Miranda Lambert's new album The Weight of These Wings may not be released for over another month, but now she let fans in on a little bit more of what they could expect.

On Twitter, Lambert shared a black and white video showing her writing out the album's name followed by a few other key pieces of information. Like many a country singer-songwriter, Lambert's a skillful storyteller who likes to play with words. "The Nerve" contains a double meaning, signifying the bravery it takes to move on from a divorce and write about it through song, as well as "the nerve" of the ex- who walked away in the first place.
