Last May we reported a rumor that Smith had been tapped to replace Wes Borland in Limp Bizkit (see story) and it now appears that those rumors have come true. In a recent posting to the Limp Bizkit website frontman Fred Durst described Smith as our new guitarist. So the mystery is over. Whether he is the illist guitarist known to man is open to debate but at least we know Fred thinks so.
In other Fred related news, he also had this to say about the new Limp Bizkit CD (the names changes weekly but it is now set to be released on June 17th.): "The more the build-up continues, the more I realize how much depth this album has," wrote Durst on the Limp Bizkit website. "It's not one dimensional like others I'm hearing in this genre. And it doesn't sound like a pre-fabricated formula. It feels very honest and real to me. I'm sure you will feel the same. I'm getting excited."
Fred also mentioned that they band plans to play some live dates in May. There were no details at press time.
