Linkin Park Sales Drop
Linkin Park will remain in the top spot on the Billboard Album Charts this week despite a sharp drop off in sales for the second week the album was in stores. Meteora had first week sales of 811,000 in America but the second week sales dropped to 250,000 units according to a report from Undercover News.
Undercover reports the following:
It's another good week for Link Park. 'Meteora' is going to not only be the number 1 record in America again this week but number 1 by a long shot. Sales of 'Meteora' will be over 250,000 this week giving the title a 70,000 lead of 50 Cent's 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. White Stripes bolted out of the post and yesterday looked like finishing in the Top 3 but second day sales slowed their performance. They finish up possibly at #6 with sales over 120,000.
Norah Jones, Celine Dion and the various artist compilation Now 12 continued to storm out of stores giving them dominance for Top 5 positions.
For White Stripes it is still a good win. This week their album debuted at #1 in England selling around 80,000 units. In Australia, they came in at #4 on 7,389 sales.
Linkin Park debuted at #1 in 18 countries
with 'Meteora'. The album current tops charts in the United States, Spain,
Slovenia, the UK, Japan, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Sweden, Austria,
Chile, Indonesia, Ireland, Norway, Switzerland, Taiwan, the Czech
Republic and Hong Kong.

Birds Killing Joke
Jaz Coleman of Killing Joke was recently in California where Dave Grohl laid down drum tracks for the forthcoming Killing Joke album, which will be released by Sony Records later this year.
While in California he stopped by a Birthday bash for antiMUSICs founder Keavin Wiggins and caught a solo acoustic set by former Bird3 frontman, Bird. Impressed with what he heard, Coleman has invited Bird to his home in Prague to work on his new material for his solo record.
Of note, the 3 members of Bird3 played together for the first time in over a year as the encore to Birds set during the above-mentioned show. They performed Air Crisp from their self-titled debut album. Bird is currently in discussion with several labels about a deal but has not yet settled on a new label home.
Wonderlove Win Big At OC Music Awards.
Another local Los Angeles area band we have covered here at antiMUSIC in the past, Wonderlove were big winners at this years Orange County Music Awards, repeating their strong showing at last years awards.
The walked away with awards for Best Rock Group and Best Live Band.
Wonderlove self-released their sophomore album, My Submarine, earlier this year and are currently in discussions with several major and large indie labels about a deal to release a remixed version of the album.
