Voice of America news (http://www.voanews.com/) reports that Georgian officials announced on Sunday (Oct 12) that they plan to name one of the Caucus mountains after the Austrian-American body-builder turned actor turned politician.
The honor was actually in the works long before Arnold rose to political ranks. A presidential spokesman, Temur Shashiashvili, said the decision was made two years ago but was delayed because the actor couldnt attend the ceremony. He added that he plans to send a note congratulating Arnold on his political victory and invite the governor-elect to Georgia to visit his mountain.
For those wondering this is not the state of Georgia in the United States but rather the nation of Georgia which was formerly part of the Soviet Union until their independence in April of 1991.
Although this story sounds like a hoax,
VOA (which is ran by the US government), doesnt often perpetrate hoaxes.
