Diaz was seeking more than $75,000 in damages. Manson contended that his actions did not constitute assault and after 11 hours of deliberation when the jury returned with a verdict, they apparently agreed. 

Manson faces a similar civil suit in Michigan for a crotch gyrating episode with another security guard during a 2001 concert. Last year, Manson entered a plea of no contest to criminal charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct that were brought against him following that incident.
