Trump has been losing out in the ratings to "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" for most of the season, after NBC moved The Apprentice to Thursday nights from Tuesdays where it was competing with American Idol for viewers. Despite the stiff competition, people seemed compelled to tune in for the reality series which featured 16 candidates competing to win a dream job of a lifetime running one of Trumps enterprises for a salary of $250,000. It was bit of sociology and a bit of a sports match where the candidates were drawn into two teams that tried to outdo each other each week. The winning team got a reward and the losing team had to go to the boardroom where one team member was fired.
Although The Apprentice did Trump CSI in the ratings, the crime drama still had a good night, drawing in 23 million viewers, Trump was only able to pull away about 2.5 million viewers from CSI, but it was enough.
The winner, Bill Rancic, was given the
choice of taking a job running a high-rise development in his native
Chicago or overseeing an exclusive golf course and multimillion dollar
home development in Los Angeles. Rancic decided to stay home. But
there is already speculation that his job of running the enterprise might
not be all it is cracked up to be. Since he has no experience in building
development, some experts theorize that Rancic will not be giving the
true lead role (or is it lead roll) of running the project.
