Audiences didn�t seem to mind as they gave the film an opening weekend gross of $27.4 million.
Last week�s No. 1 �The Village� suffered a drastic second week drop, ticket sales declined 68% with a gross of $16.5 million. However, that gives the film a 10-day gross of $85.6 million.
�The Bourne Supremacy," came in third with $14.4 million. Fourth place was occupied by the Denzel Washington political thriller �The Manchurian Candidate", which grossed $10.3 million.
The top five was rounded out by another
new release, Brittany Murphy�s romantic comedy �Little Black Book�, which
earned a $7.1 million opening.
