Police pulled over a limousine for speeding at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Saturday in Hurley, New York (about 50 miles southwest of Albany.) The officer reportedly caught a strong whiff of marijuana coming from the back of the limo, where he discovered the sole passenger, Art Garfunkel.
The officer searched the vehicle, Garfunkel, and the driver and found a small amount of marijuana in the singer’s jacket.
Garfunkel was charged with possession of marijuana, and is scheduled to appear in court on January 28th (although, he doesn’t have to appear in person. He can have an attorney appear in his place or answer the charge by mail). If convicted he faces a $100 fine.
Garfunkel recently reunited with Paul Simon for a reunion tour of their chart topping group Simon and Garfunkel.
