antiTainment NEWS: Michael Jackson Trial Date Set

05-29-04 Keavin
The judge handing the Michael Jackson child molestation case has set September 13th as the trial date. This tentative date was set despite objections from Jackson’s lawyers.

Jackson’s lawyers claim that the prosecution has not yet given the defense all evidence in the case, under the discovery rules, and therefore a trial date could not be set.

The embattled star did not appear in court yesterday when the trial was set, but Judge Rodney Melville did hear a defense motion to lower Jackson’s $3 million bail. The judge delayed ruling on motion.
