The blockbuster soundtrack, featuring songs by The Shins, Frou Frou, Coldplay, Simon & Garfunkel and Zero 7, has garnered praise for capturing the poignant and emotional themes of the critically acclaimed film. Entertainment Weekly spotlighted Garden State on their "Must List," writing, "Coldplay, The Shins, and Simon & Garfunkel remind us of how much we loved Zach Braff's sweet gem of a film."
The Shins will perform "New Slang," one of their two contributions to Garden State, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, airing November 5th.
Called "this generation's The Graduate" by Spin, Garden State has grossed more than $25 million since its limited release in theatres on July 28th. The film stars Zach Braff ("Scrubs") and Natalie Portman in a romantic tale about life, love and the great state of New Jersey.
