Morrissey Announces U.S. Tour

(Press Release) Morrissey has announced a fall tour in support of his critically acclaimed  Attack/Sanctuary release, You Are The Quarry.  The tour, which kicks off in Washington, DC at the end of September, will run throughout October into November and wrap up on November 12 in Los Angeles, CA.

This latest string of tour dates will prove to be another success for Morrissey if his first group of tour dates is any indication.  After playing to sell out crowds in
Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York (5 Sold Out nights in each market) and Chicago (sold out minutes after it went on sale), these new dates will bring
Morrissey in front of a greater number of his adoring fans.

Morrissey released You Are The Quarry on May 18th, giving him his highest ever debut at #11 on the Billboard Top 200 & in the Top 5 all over Europe.  With
Quarry, his first album in 7 years, Morrissey signaled his return with the debut single, "Irish Blood, English Heart."  Morrissey's new single, "The First Of The
Gang To Die," solidifies his return.

As lead singer for The Smiths, one of the most influential bands of the 80s, Morrissey blazed a trail for dozens of modern day alternative rock acts. He has sold millions of records worldwide both as a solo artist and during his time with The Smiths. His concerts sell-out in minutes and the level of devotion from his fans is legendary. Morrissey's impact on pop music is undeniable and culminated in England�s New Musical Express voting him the most influential artist of all time last year.

On the upcoming tour, Morrissey will hit the stage with Boz Boorer and Jesse Tobias on guitars, Gary Day on bass, Mike Farrell and Dean Butterworth on keyboards and drums respectively.  Morrissey has tapped Irish singer-songwriter Damien Dempsey, who CD Seize The Day will be released on Morrissey's Attack label in October, to open this leg of his North American tour.
