(press release) In their continuing relationship with singer-songwriter-painter Joni Mitchell, Warner Strategic Marketing will release SONGS OF A PRAIRIE GIRL, a collection of 13 Joni Mitchell songs that reflect the Canadian province (Saskatchewan) from which she hails or were written during her stays there. SONGS OF A PRAIRIE GIRL is set for release April 26.

The collection SONGS OF A PRAIRIE GIRL is being released to coincide with the Centennial celebration of Saskatchewan taking place this May. SONGS OF A PRAIRIE GIRL is the second volume in a series of "curated" editions by Mitchell of her works in newly themed retrospectives which reflect the vast legacy and stages of her career. DREAMLAND, the first volume in the series, was released this past fall by Warner Strategic Marketing to widespread critical acclaim.

As with each volume in the series, Mitchell is working closely with the record label and is very hands-on in terms of track selection, sequencing, mastering and artwork. SONGS OF A PRAIRIE GIRL also contains the newly remastered track "Paprika Plains," originally recorded on Mitchell's seminal 1977 Don Juan's Reckless Daughter release.

The complete track listing for SONGS OF A PRAIRIE GIRL is as follows:
1. "Urge For Going"
2. "The Tea Leaf Prophecy (Lay Down Your Arms)"
3. "Cherokee Louise" (Orchestral Version, 2002)
