(antiTainment) Martin Scorsese is the man of the hour in Hollywood. His epic adventure, "The Aviator," based on billionaire Howard Hughes swept the Academy Award nominations, now vying for 11 Oscars.

Clint Eastwood made a strong showing with seven nominations for his boxing drama "Million Dollar Baby". "Finding Neverland" also scored seven nominations. The critically praised biopic about Ray Charles, "Ray" was close behind with six nominations and "Sideways" earned five chances at Oscar glory.

The spotlight this year is on Jamie Foxx who has earned nominations for Best Actor (Ray) and Best Supporting Actor (Collateral).

Meanwhile, Michael Moore's controversial big screen editorial "Fahrenheit 9/11" was shutout of the nominations and the other big controversial film of 2004, Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" only earned three nominations (cinematography, makeup and original score).

The Academy Awards Ceremony will take place on February 27th in Los Angeles. ABC will provide a live broadcast.
