Day, whose smash hit single "Collide" continues to blanket the airwaves, hits the road with DMB beginning June 18th at the Meadows Music Centre in Hartford, Connecticut. In addition to he DeGraw tour, which begins June 28th at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia, Day will also be doing a string of headlining dates.
The acclaimed singer-songwriter has been touring in support of his reinvigorated sophomore album, STOP ALL THE WORLD NOW. The album, originally released in fall of 2003, has re-entered Billboard's album chart and continues to thrive, thanks to the remarkable success of Top 40 radio staple "Collide."
About the album's resurgence, the Associated Press wrote, "This is the way pop-music breakthroughs used to happen, when so-called 'overnight successes' really took years of blood, sweat and back stories.' In an era of here-today, gone-tonight new artists, the current popularity of Day's rich alt-pop ballad 'Collide' is something of note."
The hit and its companion video will be featured on the upcoming DualDisc version of STOP ALL THE WORLD NOW, along with an in-the-studio recording session interview, live performances and two other music videos.
Day has garnered praise for his energetic live shows and unique approach to performing, in which he incorporates live loop sampling and delay pedals to create rhythms, melodies and backing vocals that serve as a full band while he plays guitar and sings. For his upcoming dates, however, the shows will be a combination of solo performances and gigs featuring a full backing band. Don't miss your chance to catch Day performing songs from the album the Chicago Tribune described as "lush and dramatic enough to suggest U2."
