Lily Allen is Coming to Smile

. (PR) Lily Allen's "Smile" has been a massive summer hit in the U.K., topping the U.K. Airplay chart for six weeks in a row. Now the 21-year-old artist, pronounced by NME as "the archetypal singer-songwriter for the iPod generation," has set her sights on America.

Last November, Allen - as many artists do - started posting tracks on her MySpace site so she could see what fans thought of them. "Since then, it's gone mad," she says. Mad indeed - her songs have received over four million total plays to date. Alright, Still, Allen's full-length debut album, rocketed onto the U.K. Album chart at #2 in mid-July, earning accolades from the U.K. press.
