Home for the Holidays with Rod Stewart
(CBS) There are currently half a million children in foster care waiting to be adopted in the U.S. Once again, CBS, Children’s Action Network and The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption are helping find homes for foster children through THE 8TH ANNUAL A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS WITH ROD STEWART, to be broadcast Friday, Dec. 22 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS. Last year, the “Children Waiting” segment on the special featured 12 children from ages 4-15. As a result of the show, every one of them now has an adoptive home.
The special shares compelling stories of families who have enriched their lives by adopting foster children, and enhances these stories with performances by some of today’s top performers. Rod Stewart headlines this year’s show, with special performances by Katharine McPhee, John Legend, John Ondrasik from Five for Fighting and Mary Mary. The inspirational stories are presented by Cedric the Entertainer, Miley Cyrus (“Hannah Montana”), Angie Harmon, Melina Kanakaredes, Rene Russo and Jeri Ryan.
