Reznor tells a UK paper that plans for a TV series based on the album are moving forward. "We've got a producer on board and have met with writers,� Reznor told the Sun. "We're about to pitch it to the network, so we're a couple of weeks away from meeting all of the main people, and we'll see what happens."
"Year Zero" was launched earlier this year with a series of online and offline clues to the theme of the album which warns that we are headed for Fascist totalitarianism by the year 2023 unless we make sharp political and social shifts to the left. (Which historically has led to totalitarian states. Seems no one believes in the middle ground these days. )
