Current Fix

(PR) Current TV, the place where young adults go to get connected and stay current, has launched a new music franchise called The Current Fix. The weekly five minute music pod -- now airing on the network – showcases bands on the rise, exclusive interviews and fan-focused experiences from all genres of music.

Here’s a sneak peak of what you can expect to see on The Current Fix:

All Eyes On The Shins!
The first and only Audience Created Concert Film of its kind, featuring The Shins performing their brand new single “Phantom Limb” at the Austin City Limits Festival. Over 200 video clips from fans' cell phones and digital cameras were blended together to create rock history.

All Eyes On The Shins! Part 2: Behind-The-Scenes
Exclusive behind-the-scenes hijinks with The Shins at the Austin City Limits Music Festival, shot by the band members themselves. Before the highly anticipated release of their third album, fans could not wait to get their hands on all things Shins related -- including our footage of the band partying with Gnarls Barkley, drinking beer “Texas Ranger Style” and competing for the best guitar pick throw.

Flaming Lips Dancing Santa
Current Fix host, Douglas Caballero, takes the audience where no camera has gone before and fulfills every Flaming Lips fan's fantasy by dancing on stage with the band dressed as Santa Claus and hanging out backstage with lead singer, Wayne Coyne.

Southern rappers used to get no respect in the Hip Hop community, but Chamillionaire helped changed all that with his business degree from the streets and his non-stop hustle. Now he’s a Platinum artist and we were the first television network to catch up with him before he was a chart-topper.

Silversun Pickups
Before Silversun Pickups went from local indie-rock buzz band to rocking arenas nationwide, the guys (and girl) in the band took us on a tour of their rapidly changing neighborhood of Silverlake, while inviting us to listen in on their unreleased debut album.

Juana Molina
Juana Molina was once Argentina's biggest television comedienne, but now she's making a new name for herself as a one-woman digital folk band. Juana is at the forefront of the emerging DIY music culture showing the struggles of what it takes to reinvent one’s self.

The Sonic Drop SXSW ‘06: New Music For Your Ears
SXSW in Austin, TX. 1400 bands. 60 clubs. 5 days. And who knows how many parties. Ever wonder what it would be like to chase down your favorite bands at the world’s largest music industry festival? Doug and Alex did it and lived to put it on Current TV.

Gym Class Heroes
Myspace megastars, Gym Class Heroes, take us around with them on a day in the life of the 2006 Warped Tour. The live hip-hop foursome sign autographs, give interviews, play two shows all while filming the action themselves with cameras we provided.
