The Soundtrack of Our Lives Plot Origins Sequel, Go Northwest

06/01/07
.
(PR) Powerful. Mythical. Majestic. Swedish sextet The Soundtrack of Our Lives is everything a self-respecting psychrock band should be. With time-tested cues to the woozy, 60s grit of Love, the grandiose dreaminess of 70s Pink Floyd, and a lush modern pop sensibility, Soundtrack manages to allude to the past while firmly planting themselves in the present.

Following the success of 2005s Origins: Vol. 1, Soundtrack is set to unveil the second installment in their planned Origins series. As could be expected, the record cherry picks from the classic rock cannon, re-contextualizing the monster riffs of the MC5, the majesty and bombast of The Who, the shirtless intensity of the Stooges, and the epic songwriting of the Beatles. End result is a bewildering mixture of everything that ever made a kid want to pick up a guitar. No MP3s just yet, but in the mean time lets quench our thirsts with the video for Behind The Musics Sister Surround.

To celebrate the upcoming release of Origin Vol. 2, Soundtrack will be playing three dates at Canadas North By North West festival this June.
