Patrick Stump (he's the frontman) says that he and the band's spokesmodel (Wentz) were misquoted. Seems Pete and Patrick were talking about how groovy the band thinks folk is and it somehow turned into the band making a folk album. Put away the razorblades, it's not true.
"There was something that got misconstrued. Pete (Wentz, Fall Out Boy's bassist) was saying something about folk music, and I was saying something about folk music," Stump told MTV.com "I don't know if that's really going to be an influence. We were kind of thinking about folk music lyrically, and I think a lot of people assumed that meant acoustic guitars, which it doesn't."
